    Abstract: There is provided a biodegradable artificial bait composition capable of producing a biodegradable artificial bait that gives less influence on organisms and the natural environment and is more practical. The biodegradable artificial bait composition is a composition to be used for an artificial bait for fishing, the composition comprising 10 to 30% by mass of gelatin, 25 to 80% by mass of a polyhydric alcohol; 9 to 55% by mass of water, and 0.005 to 3% by mass of at least one crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of alum, transglutaminase, monosaccharides, and polyphenols.
