  • Publication number: 20100073964
Abstract: A switching element controls supply of a primary current to a transformer in a switching power supply. An amplifier circuit amplifies an output ripple of an auxiliary winding of a transformer. A fluctuation generator circuit generates a fluctuating signal, based on an output of the amplifier circuit. A basic signal generator circuit generates a PWM basic signal whose frequency fluctuates according to the fluctuating signal. A control circuit ON controls the switching element when receiving the PWM basic signal, and OFF controls the switching element when receiving an OFF signal based on output feedback of the switching power supply.

  • Publication number: 20100073967
Abstract: A switching element controls supply of a primary current to a transformer. A basic signal generator circuit generates a PWM basic signal regardless of a control condition of the switching element. A timer circuit measures an elapsed, predetermined longer time than one cycle of the PWM basic signal since a start of ON control of the switching element. A control circuit ON controls the switching element when receiving the PWM basic signal, and OFF controls the switching element when receiving either one of a first OFF signal based on output feedback of a switching power supply and a second OFF signal based on completion of time measuring by the timer circuit.

  • Publication number: 20100033992
Abstract: In the present invention, according to a time from when a switching element 2 is turned on to when the switching element 2 reaches a set overcurrent detection level, an on time correction circuit 15 changes a time from when the switching element 2 reaches the overcurrent detection level to when the switching element 2 is turned off. Thus it is possible to keep constant the peak value of drain current passing through the switching element 2, regardless of an input voltage Vin.

  • Patent number: 7511929
Abstract: An operating voltage of a control circuit controlling ON/OFF of a switching element of a power supply is supplied from a connection node between a primary winding of a transformer and the switching element. The control circuit includes: an output voltage detection circuit that obtains, from a voltage output from the wave-shaping circuit, a feedback voltage in proportion to a voltage output from the rectifier/smoothing circuit and generates a signal for PWM control of the switching element; and a bottom detection circuit that detects, from the voltage output from the wave-shaping circuit, a bottom level of a ringing voltage. The control circuit switches the switching element from OFF to ON in accordance with a signal output from an oscillator internal to the control circuit or a signal output from the bottom detection circuit.

  • Patent number: 7508254
Abstract: A reference supply voltage circuit includes a detecting device for detecting a first reference voltage, a comparator, and a preventing circuit for preventing any false operation during pre-operation indefinite time interval. The comparator outputs a signal which controls an operation circuit whose supply voltage is a second reference voltage equal to or lower than the first reference voltage. The preventing circuit maintains the second reference voltage to a circuit reference potential when the first reference voltage is lower than a first predetermined voltage, sets the second reference voltage to a voltage equal to the first reference voltage when the first reference voltage is equal to or higher than the first predetermined voltage and lower than a second predetermined voltage, and sets the second reference voltage to a voltage proportional to the first reference voltage when the first reference voltage is equal to or higher than the second predetermined voltage.

  • Patent number: 7439719
Abstract: A switching control circuit is provided which can increase the off period of a switching element when the on period of the switching element is equal to the sum of the minimum pulse period (blanking period (a fixed period during which drain current is not detected after the switching element is turned on)) and a detection delay period (a period from when the drain current is equal to or higher than a detection criterion to when the switching element is actually turned off) and PWM control is disabled. An off period adjusting circuit generates, when the on period of the switching element is equal to the minimum pulse period, an adjusting signal OFF_C for increasing the off period of the switching element and supplies the signal to an on/off circuit for controlling the periodic on/off operation of the switching element.

  • Patent number: 7348766
Abstract: The peak current flowing to the switching device drops in a no-load state with PWM control, but because the number of switching operations is constant regardless of the load, further reducing power consumption is difficult. The switching power supply device has a PWM signal generator for generating a PWM signal, a switching device Q1 for switching the first supply voltage VIN based on the PWM signal, converters for outputting the difference between a second supply voltage and a reference voltage as a difference signal, and an intermittent oscillation control circuit for stopping the switching operation of the first switching device when the difference signal is less than a predetermined first threshold value (Vp1). The PWM signal generator changes the pulse width based on the difference signal to generate the PWM signal.
