  • Patent number: 4498720
Abstract: An electrical connector for leadless integrated circuit packages which has clamps for depressing and keeping the package in a connector housing to establish pressure contact of terminal pads of the package with contact elements of the connector. A lower portion of the clamp engages with a bottom surface of the connector housing in the vicinity of an imaginary line on which the bottom surface of the connector housing intersects with a line of pressure force acting onto the connector housing from each contact element, so that the connector housing is substantially freed from deformation caused by a torque due to contact pressure and clamping force.

  • Patent number: 4331371
Abstract: A zero insertion force type connector for connecting pins of an integrated circuit package, which comprised a housing having a plurality of recesses separated from each other by a partition, electrical contact terminals being mounted in the housing through an opening in the slider which is mounted in the recess. The contact terminal comprises a web, blade and terminal portion. The web is formed to provide a resilient body and the blade is provided with an opening which has an enlarged portion and a narrow slot. The web portion is driven by the slider to align the enlarged portion of the opening in the blade with the pin to be connected and when the web portion is returned to its original position, the pin is grasped in the slot and brought into contact with the contact terminal.

  • Patent number: 4204722
Abstract: An electrical connector on which a first circuit board is mounted has a series of contact elements therein each with an end portion that projects from the connector, the end portion being soldered to a second circuit board. The connector has a slit parallel to each of the peripheral edges thereof. The slit is separated by bridge portions to form a plurality of openings. The locking means is provided with a protruded edge that engages with the surface of the first circuit board and hook portions each of which can be inserted into a corresponding opening and slid therein for preventing separation of the first circuit board and the connector.

  • Patent number: 4088382
Abstract: Discloses a connecting structure of an electric terminal for connecting an insulated wire or coated conductor to the terminal. The connecting structure comprises a base, a pair of opposed forked portions continuously extending from the base and a center contact blade situated in between the forked portions, and by forcibly inserting the coated conductor into channels or notches in the forked portions, the coating of the coated wire is partially slitted and split along the wire or core conductor to expose it, then the exposed portion of the core conductor is positibly held in between the forked portions and the center contact blade.

  • Patent number: 4076362
Abstract: Discloses novel contact drivers in electric connectors. The electric connectors respectively provided with a series of contacts each of which has a movable end. Pin conductors are inserted into positions in which the pin conductors remain out of contact with the contacts. By operating a slider which is slidable longitudinally along the connector, the movable ends of the contacts are brought into contact with the pin conductors.
