  • Patent number: 6032723
Abstract: Four air flow control doors of an automotive air conditioning device are synchronously controlled by a link mechanism. With a unique construction of the link mechanism, the following advantageous results are obtained. In a ventilation mode of a maximum cool condition, sufficient amount of cooled air can be blown into the vehicle cabin from a ventilation opening. In the ventilation mode of a half-hot condition, mixing of cooled air and warmed air is effectively carried out before being blown into the vehicle cabin. In a bi-level mode of the half-hot condition, the passengers in the vehicle cabin can enjoy a so-called "lower side warming and upper side cooling" air conditioning wherein the lower portion of the vehicle cabin is suitably warmed and the upper portion of the vehicle cabin is suitably cooled.

  • Patent number: 5727731
Abstract: A heater unit of automotive air conditioning device comprises a case. In the case, there are defined a cool air passage, a hot air passage and an air mix chamber. The cool air passage has an upstream end merged with an air inlet opening of the case and a downstream end merged with the air mix chamber. The hot air passage has an upstream end merged with the upstream end of the cool air passage and a downstream largest area merged with the air mix chamber. The air mix chamber is directly communicated with air outlet openings of the case. A heater core is arranged in the upstream end of the hot air passage. An air mix door is pivotally arranged in the case to vary the flow rate between air directed toward the hot air passage and air directed toward the cool air passage. A shutter door is pivotally arranged in the downstream largest area of the hot air passage. A link mechanism is used for achieving synchronized pivoting movements of the air mix door and the shutter door.

  • Patent number: 5127470
Abstract: An apparatus for heat recovery from an exhaust gas with waste heat from a heat machinery unit, which comprises a pair of first and second chemical heat-storing units, each comprising a vessel containing a reactant material capable of releasing a reaction-susceptible material upon heating with an exhaust gas and emitting the heat of reaction upon combination with the reaction-susceptible material and a heat exchanger piping provided in the vessel and through which a heat transfer medium is passed. The high temperature gas from the heat machinery unit is applied to the vessel in one of the first and second chemical heat-storing units, thereby resulting in a reaction for leasing the reaction-susceptible material.

  • Patent number: 5117383
Abstract: A digital signal processing circuit of a so-called RNS system in which a residue number system ("RNS") encoder for converting input data into RNS code data is provided with a converter for connecting the input data into a multiple of one or more of the moduli of the RNS code. The converter is operated in the case of occurrence of trouble in the processing system of the modulus to locate the site of the trouble on the basis of the output of the digital signal processing circuit.

  • Patent number: 5008668
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for encoding and decoding data in the residue number system, input binary data are supplied to an encoder to be divided by moduli m.sub.0, m.sub.1, m.sub.2, . . . m (i.e., positive integers having a mutually prime relation). Residue data corresponding to respective moduli are output from the encoder to a digital filter circuit including a plurality of digital filters, each filter corresponding to a respective modulus. Processing for some specified application is performed by the digital filters based, for example, on the Mixed Radix Conversion Method method to generate output data still in the residue format. The residue data output from the digital filters then are input to a decoder to be converted back into binary data. Encoding is performed by splitting n-bit straight binary data into, for example, upper bit data and lower bit data, received by respective ROM tables. Each ROM table outputs a value to another common ROM table which outputs the converted residue data.

  • Patent number: 4990911
Abstract: A relatively simplified sampling frequency converter for use in a format conversion apparatus is operative to convert sampled input data of an input sampling frequency into sampled output data of an output sampling frequency. The converter has an over-sampling circuit for increasing the sampling frequency of the sampled input data by a predetermined factor or coefficient to provide over-sampled data; an output data extractor for periodically extracting data from the over-sampled data in response to a timing pulse having the output sampling frequency; and a controller for controlling the phase of the timing pulse which controls the phase of the sampled output data.
