  • Patent number: 5910807
Abstract: A display control device comprises a work memory including at least a plurality of memory bits each for storing one-bit data indicating whether or not each pixel is inside a figure of plane geometry having a contour such as a polygon, a control unit for scanning each of a plurality of raster scan lines and searching for at least one pixel which can be assumed to form a line segment which partially constructs the contour of the figure so as to generate a control signal for controlling bit inversion to determine the inside of the figure, a selecting unit for receiving the one-bit data of each pixel which is sequentially delivered by the work memory and inverting the one-bit data so as to select one from among the original one-bit data and the inverted one-bit data according to the control signal from the control unit, and output the selected data; a unit for writing the selected data from the selecting unit into a corresponding one of the plural memory bits of the work memory.

  • Patent number: 5463756
Abstract: A memory control unit and associated method for changing memory access time are used in a microprocessor system in order to make it possible to alter the number of wait states in accordance with memory characteristics. The memory control unit incorporates a register which holds at least 1 bit of data related to the wait states, outputs a response signal to a central processing unit (CPU) at a timing changed in accordance with the data held in the register, and changes the data held in the register by executing a write cycle under control of the CPU. The memory control unit includes a section for holding fixed data representing a fixed delay time based upon an anticipated access time of a memory unit, in addition to the register which holds variable data representing a variable delay time, and an output circuit which adds the fixed data and variable data to produce data representing a total delay time.

  • Patent number: 5165293
Abstract: An intermediate gear type starter comprises a movable coupling body which is mounted on the intermediate shaft in such a manner as to slide together with the intermediate gear. The movable coupling body comprises: a locking portion which is engaged with the over-running clutch: and a cover portion for closing the opening formed on the internal combustion engine side. The over-running clutch is axially coupled to the intermediate gear through the movable coupling body.

  • Patent number: 5130586
Abstract: An intermediate gear type starter motor of the present invention comprises an electric motor with an armature rotary shaft, an overrunning clutch to which rotation of the rotary shaft is transmitted directly or through a speed reducing mechanism, an intermediate gear and a shift coupler. The overrunning clutch rotating a pinion in one way is provided at the front end of the overrunning clutch and is moved axially by a shift lever which is operated by an electromagnetic switch. The intermediate gear is rotatably and axially movably mounted on a supporting shaft arranged in parallel with the axis of the rotary shaft. The intermediate gear is in engagement with the pinion and is moved forwardly to engage with the ring gear of an internal combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 5107415
Abstract: A microprocessor which exchanges data of a plurality of bits arranged in a predetermined order by every predetermined number of bits comprises, an area assignment register for assigning a certain area in an address space, a holding register for holding order information of data in the assigned area, and a circuit for rearranging the data bits order in response to the order information when data are exchanged with the assigned area, and processes the data to increase the execution speed by rearranging the data order automatically by hardwares in response to the order information of data in the area, when respective microprocessors in a multiprocessor system share a certain area of a main memory.

  • Patent number: 4899604
Abstract: A starter motor comprising a housing, an electric motor having an output rotary shaft and mounted within the housing, an over-running clutch axially slidably mounted on the output rotary shaft, a solenoid switch for shifting the over-running clutch, and a pinion shifter assembly. The pinion shifter assembly comprises a hollow cylindrical shifter main body placed between the output rotary shaft and the housing in a slidable and rotatable engagement therewith a pinion mounted on one end of the shifter main body for rotation therewith. The shifter main body is connected at the other end thereof to the over-running clutch, and the pinion is a member assembled on the one end of the shifter main body. The pinion may be connected to the shifter main body by splines and a compression spring may be disposed between the pinion and the shifter main body for allowing an axial movement of the pinion relative to the shifter main body.

  • Patent number: 4677407
Abstract: An electromagnetic switch for a starter motor is disclosed in which powder produced by friction from repeated opening and closing of the stationary and movable contacts is prevented from entering in between the sliding parts of the movable iron core assembly, thus ensuring the smooth sliding motion of the movable iron core assembly at all times, and in which the penetration of external water into the space defined by the stationary and movable iron cores and the shaft member is effectively prevented thereby to avoid various troubles resulting therefrom.
