Patent number: 8540336Abstract: This invention discloses an apparatus for controlling ink supply amount/registration adjustment in a printing press. The apparatus includes a base, sensor head, sensor head moving unit, first detector, second detector, and control unit. The sensor head moving unit includes a upward/downward position adjusting unit which adjusts the upward/downward position of the sensor head. The second detector detects the upward/downward position of a color bar when color matching data of a color patch of each color in the color bar is measured by the first detector. The upward/downward position adjusting unit adjusts the upward/downward position of the sensor head based on the upward/downward position of the color bar, which is detected by the second detector. A method of controlling ink supply amount/registration adjustment in a printing press is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2011Date of Patent: September 24, 2013Assignee: Komori CorporationInventors: Yoshiaki Kurata, Koji Okasaka, Tomoyuki Morono, Megumi Kikuchi

Patent number: 6615728Abstract: A printing press includes an ink roller group, image exposing section, pre-inking controller, and CPU. The ink roller group supplies ink stored in an ink fountain to a printing plate mounted on a plate cylinder. The image exposing section exposes an image on a printing plate before plate making which is mounted on the plate cylinder. The pre-inking controller forms an ink film thickness distribution corresponding to the image to be exposed on the printing plate on the ink roller group. The CPU performs image exposing and ink film thickness distribution formation concurrently at least partly by controlling the image exposing section and the pre-inking controller. A control method for a printing press is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Komori CorporationInventors: Yoshiaki Kurata, Hideki Saito

Patent number: 6615725Abstract: A printing press includes a blanket cleaning controller, automatic plate change unit, image exposing section, pre-inking controller, and CPU. The blanket cleaning controller cleans a blanket mounted on a blanket cylinder. The automatic plate change unit changes a printing plate mounted on a plate cylinder to a new printing plate. The image exposing section exposes an image on the printing plate mounted on the plate cylinder. The pre-inking controller forms, on an ink roller group, an ink film thickness distribution corresponding to an image to be exposed next. The CPU automatically drives the blanket cleaning controller, automatic plate change unit, image exposing section, and pre-inking controller in an operation order set by a start command.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Komori CorporationInventors: Yoshiaki Kurata, Hideki Saito

Patent number: 5185520Abstract: A sheet overlapping detecting method includes the following steps. A predetermined level value V.sub.os is set as the level of a light emission signal. On the basis of a value V.sub.ik of a light reception signal obtained upon light reception based on light emission corresponding to a light emission signal having a predetermined level value V.sub.os, an optimum value V.sub.od corresponding to the input value V.sub.k is calculated in accordance with a prestored V.sub.ik -V.sub.od characteristic table. The calculated optimum value V.sub.od is set as the level of the light emission signal to drive the light-emitting device. On the basis of a value V.sub.ik of a corresponding light reception signal, a change value V.sub.1-2 corresponding to the input value V.sub.ik is calculated in accordance with a prestored V.sub.ik -V.sub.1-2 chararcteristic table. A determination level V.sub.L is calculated in accordance with the following equation:V.sub.L =V.sub.1 -(V.sub.1-2)1/2where V.sub.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1990Date of Patent: February 9, 1993Assignee: Komori CorporationInventor: Yoshiaki Kurata

Patent number: 5110114Abstract: According to a method and apparatus for multiple sheet detection for performing ON/OFF control of a multiple sheet detection function for sheets on the basis of use/non-use information set by keys (8), sheet data is fetched (5, 201) from one sheet fed for the first time. It is determined (5, 202) on the basis of the fetched sheet data whether multiple sheet feeding of the sheets can be discriminated by the multiple sheet detection function. A use/non-use state is checked (5, 204) by the keys when multiple sheet feeding can be discriminated by the multiple sheet detection function. An alarm is generated (205) on the basis of a check result.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1991Date of Patent: May 5, 1992Assignee: Komori CorporationInventors: Makoto Yamauchi, Yoshiaki Kurata, Tadashi Ichinose

Patent number: 4874247Abstract: There is disclosed a measurement position synchronization method applied to a scanning densitometer to photoelectrically scan a control strip comprising a plurality of color patches of respective colors printed on a paper to thereby calculate densities of the color patches every respective colors. This method comprises: the steps of responding to a measured values obtained by scanning a color patch of a specified color to calculate points which have varied respectively by predetermined values on the side of a reference level included in the measured values; determining the intermediate point of the both points calculated to be an actual measurement central point of the color patch of the specified color; and carrying out synchronization of measurement positions in accordance with a difference between a scheduled central point and the actual measurement central point.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1987Date of Patent: October 17, 1989Assignee: Komori Printing Machinery Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hideo Watanabe, Yoshiaki Kurata
