  • Patent number: 7092613
Abstract: A backup device in case of power failure comprises a device for continuing, when power failure is detected by a power failure detecting circuit during a recording operation, the recording operation by turning a switch on, and a device for turning the switch off when data which have been stored in both memories immediately before power fails and all data composing two blocks to which the data belong have been recorded on a recording medium, to stop the recording operation.

  • Patent number: 6983101
Abstract: An image recording apparatus comprises means for storing in a memory input image data as basic image data in a period of a predetermined number of fields as well as feeding the input image data to image compression means, means for finding, with respect to each of the input image data corresponding to the fields between the field corresponding to the input image data which has been stored in the memory and the field corresponding to the input image data which is to be subsequently stored in the memory, the difference between the input image data and the basic image data which has been most newly stored in the memory, and feeding data representing the obtained difference to the image compression means, and means for recording on a recording medium compressed data for each field which has been compressed by the image compression means, together with identification indicating whether the compressed data corresponds to the basic image data or the difference data.

  • Patent number: 6768862
Abstract: A retrieval method by designation of recording time comprises the first step of specifying, when recording time is designated in order to perform retrieval by designation of the recording time, a block corresponding to the designated recording time on the basis of VASS data, and storing in a second memory data in the block, the second step of retrieving, out of a plurality of fields included in the block stored in the second memory, the field having recording time information corresponding to the designated recording time by binary search, and the third step of reproducing and outputting data corresponding to the retrieved field.

  • Patent number: 6469746
Abstract: The present invention discloses a multi-vision screen display device which has a plurality of processing units each assigned to a subscreen of a display screen. The processing unit processes to display an input image on a display area which is the subscreen assigned to itself. Such processing unit comprises an image memory, a display magnification selecting unit for selecting a read-out area of the input image to be displayed on the display area, a writing unit for writing an image signal within the read-out area into the image memory at a pixel density which corresponds to a display magnification, and a reading unit for reading the image signal from the image memory at a timing which realizes to display the read-out area of the input image on the display area.

  • Patent number: 5619385
Abstract: A time lapse VTR carrying out field extraction recording includes a gate for extracting intermittently a supplied video signal at a ratio of one field to every three fields, a switching circuit for designating selectively a tape running speed of either 1/9 or 1/12 the tape running speed of a SP mode in the VHS system, and a servo control circuit for driving a capstan motor to run a magnetic tape at the designated tape running speed. The video signal extracted intermittently by the gate circuit is recorded at an azimuth angle differing from each field by a plurality of video heads on a magnetic head running at the designated tape running speed. As a result, the reproduction compatibility of a magnetic tape having field extraction recorded by a time lapse VTR with an EP mode of a conventional VTR of the VHS system is ensured.

  • Patent number: 5155730
Abstract: A video tape recorder includes a microcomputer, an input terminal and a decoder. Its mode of operation can be determined by selectably applying one of a set of different voltages at the input terminal thereby causing the decoder to transmit an appropriate signal to the microcomputer. If a preselected voltage such as the ground voltage is applied at the input terminal, the decoder outputs a reset signal to thereby reset the microcomputer without the need for a dedicated reset switch.
