Abstract: A vehicular door sash includes a sash frame formed by subjecting a predetermined metal sheet to a roll molding process to have a predetermined cross section. The sash frame includes a groove portion for retaining a glass-run channel, a retainer portion for retaining a weather strip, a flange portion that connects the retainer portion and the groove portion and partially forms an outer surface of a door of a vehicle, and a sash molding configured to cover the flange portion. The flange portion has a first configuration in which the flange portion is not covered by the sash molding and a second configuration in which the flange portion is covered and compressed by the sash molding.

Abstract: To use the same sash material for producing two types of a vehicular door sash, a lower-cost type provided with no sash molding, and a luxury type provided with sash molding produced through additional roll molding means to reduce the width of its flange portion. The additional roll molding means (D) performed by a plurality of rollers (D1, D2, D3) includes a crushing step that crushes a space formed on the back surface of the flange portion 3 under pressure, and a bending step that bends an end portion 12 of the crushed flange portion 3 at the side of the groove portion 1 upward.

Abstract: A window assembly for a vehicle body is disclosed which comprises a side window pane having a peripheral edge surface, a rear window pane having a peripheral edge surface, the peripheral edge of the rear window pane being disposed adjacent the peripheral edge of the side window pane in an operative position of the rear window pane, a first molding strip mounted along at least a portion of the peripheral edge surface of the side window pane, a second molding strip mounted along at least a portion of the peripheral edge surface of the rear window pane, support structure for supporting at least the side window pane on the vehicle body, and the first and second molding strips being configured to conceal the support structure from being viewed outwardly of the vehicle and to provide an appearance of a continuous outer surface from the side window pane to the rear window pane.
