    Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit, a printing unit, a platen section facing the printing unit, a regulation unit arranged on a downstream side of the printing unit in the conveyance direction and configured to regulate a height position of the print medium, and a guide section arranged on a downstream side of the platen section. The guide section includes a first declined section, a second declined section arranged on the downstream side of the first declined section in the conveyance direction, and an inclined section inclined from the second declined section to the downstream side in the conveyance direction. A declination of the second declined section is more moderate than that of the first declined section, and the regulation unit faces the guide section.

    Abstract: An ultraviolet ray emitter includes an inner tube, an outer tube arranged around the inner tube, the outer tube defining between the outer tube and the inner tube, a discharge space where discharge gas is sealed, a pair of electrodes that causes discharge in the discharge space, and an auxiliary light source that assists excitation of discharge gas by emitting light to discharge gas from the outside of the outer tube. The outer tube is less likely to allow passage therethrough of ultraviolet light generated by excitation of discharge gas than the inner tube but allows passage therethrough of light having a wavelength emitted from the auxiliary light source.

    Abstract: Provided are a total organic carbon measurement method and a total organic carbon measurement device capable of determining whether or not an acid has been added to a sample. An acid is introduced into a reaction unit in which the sample is placed from a reservoir in which the acid is reserved (step S103). The conductivity of the sample into which the acid has been introduced is measured (step S105). The introduction of the acid from the reservoir into the reaction unit is detected on the basis of a change in the conductivity of the sample (step S107).
