Abstract: An information processing apparatus and method is disclosed wherein setting data to be used in image pickup can be set precisely to perform desired image pickup. The information processing apparatus may include a recording control section configured to control recording of image data obtained by image pickup and setting data used in the image pickup, and a reproduction section configured to reproduce the setting data. The information processing apparatus may further include an acceptance section configured to accept a variation amount to a value corresponding to the setting data inputted by a user, and a variation section configured to vary the setting data reproduced by the reproduction section based on the variation amount accepted by the acceptance section. The recording control section may control recording of the setting data varied by the variation section. The invention can be applied typically to a personal computer.
Abstract: A video signal processing apparatus capable of flexibly handling metadata having various notation formats is provided. The video signal processing apparatus has metadata notation format identification block for identifying a metadata notation format written in a predetermined language; a conversion table selection block for selecting a conversion table corresponding to the identified metadata notation format from among one or more conversion tables prepared in advance; a metadata notation format conversion block for converting the metadata notation format into a notation format compatible with the video signal processing apparatus on the basis of the selected conversion table; and a metadata application processing block for controlling the processing associated with video signals on the basis of the metadata whose notation format has been converted.

Abstract: A UMID extracting/embedding unit 10 extracts UMID data embedded in material data. A CPU 11 updates a generation indicated by generation data in the extracted UMID data to generate new generation data when processing accompanied by a deterioration of quality is applied to the material data such as recording to a database 8. The UMID extracting/embedding unit 10 embeds the new generation data in the material data.
Abstract: A clip without UMID is transmitted to a disc drive from an editing device. The disc drive generates the UMID and NRT with respect to the transmitted clip, and stores the UMID in association with the NRT. The editing device edits the NRT, and transmits the NRT that is edition results to the disc drive. The disc drive overwrites the NRT that has been transmitted from the editing device on the generated NRT, and stores the NRT in association with the clip with the UMID. The present invention can be applied to a disc recording and reproducing device.

An information acquisition unit 353 in a playback control unit 334 allows a holding unit 354 to hold an acquired an Linear Time Code (LTC) change point table 361. An input acceptance processing unit 352 supplies an accepted cue-up instruction to a cue-up processing unit 355. The cue-up processing unit 355 identifies the File Time Code (FTC) of a frame to be cued up, referring to the LTC change point table 361 held in the holding unit 354, and supplies this information to a control unit 351. Based on the information, the control unit 351 creates cue-up command information and supplies it through a command processing unit 356 to a disk recording/playback apparatus which displays a frame image of a frame to be cued up onto a monitor.

Furthermore, in a disc-metadata updating process 212, a disc-metadata-file managing unit 182 updates the disc-metadata file, for example, using the representative-image setting unit 194. A disc-metadata-file recording controller 183 executes a process of comparing PROAV IDs using a PROAV-ID comparing unit 193, and records the disc-metadata file on a disc 132 when the PROAV IDs match. The present invention can be applied to an editing apparatus.

Abstract: An image sensing apparatus and method utilizing an image sensor, an auto white balance adjustment section, a change point detection section, and an electronic mark data generation section. The image sensor senses an image of an object and outputs an image signal corresponding to the image of the object. The auto white balance adjustment section automatically adjusts white balance of the image signal corresponding to a change of the image signal. The change point detection section detects a change point of the white balance corresponding to at least an adjustment value of the white balance while the image sensor is sensing the image of the object. The electronic mark data generation section generates electronic mark data for adjusted white balance based on time information of the change point detected by the change point detection section.
