  • Patent number: 5769311
Abstract: A heat insulating cup comprises a cup body and a protective cover. The cup body has side wall and a bottom wall. The protective cover is adhered to the cup body to cover the entire outer circumferential region of the side wall. The upper end portion of the side wall is folded outward along the open upper circumferential edge of the cup body to form a flange portion. The protective cover comprises an embossed paper sheet having a dotted pattern of embossed points and a paper liner board adhered to the embossed paper sheet. The embossed paper sheet has a basis weight of 50 to 180 g/m.sup.2, with the liner board having a basis weight of 180 to 270 g/m.sup.2. A laminate structure prepared by adhering the liner board to the embossed paper sheet is die-cut to prepare a blank of the protective cover. The blank is adhered to the side wall of the cup body such that the both side end regions of the wound blank are arranged opposite each other.

  • Patent number: 5325983
Abstract: A liquid container with a spout is disclosed. A composite sheet for the container body comprises an innermost layer of a low-smelly and low-adsorbent resin and an outermost layer of a polyolefine resin. A sealing film comprising a liquid-contacting layer and a sealing layer both made of the low-smelly and low-adsorbent resin seals a spouting hole in the container body from inside the container body. The container body and the spout sandwich a connecting film and a spout-attached film. The connecting film has a hole in alignment with and adjoining the hole in the container body. The connecting film comprises an innermost layer of a polyolefine resin and an outermost layer of the same resin as the innermost resin of the container body. The connecting film is heatsealed to the outermost layer of the container body. The spout-attached film has a hole in alignment with and adjoining the hole in the container body. The hole in the spout-attached film has a smaller diameter than the hole in the container body.

  • Patent number: 5296070
Abstract: A process for producing a liquid-container material that includes a thermoadhesive resin film, a substrate sheet having a thin-film layer of an inorganic compound, such as a silicon oxide, and a paper substrate. The thermoadhesive resin film is formed by melt-extruding a thermoadhesive resin from an extruder die, and then cooled to a temperature at which the thermoadhesive properties inherent in the thermoadhesive resin film can be retained and at which no crack is produced in the thinfilm layer of an inorganic compound when the thermoadhesive resin film is laminated to the substrate sheet. The cooled thermoadhesive resin film is laminated to the substrate sheet to form a laminate, which is then laminated to the paper substrate. The thermoadhesive resin film may preferably include a non-adsorptive resin layer and a thermoadhesive resin layer. In this instance, the non-adsorptive resin layer is so provided as to be on the outside of the liquid-container material.

  • Patent number: 5201462
Abstract: A liquid container having a carton and an inner bag within the carton, the carton having foldable portions, wherein a metering unit of a cap attached to a spout does not interfere with the foldable portion to thereby permit a liquid in the container to be metered. The carton has an upper side tilted plate from which the spout protrudes outward. Each foldable portion is provided between the tilted plate and each of a front plate and a rear plate which cooperates with a pair of side plates to constitute a barrel of the carton. Each foldable portion has a cutout therein to avoid interference with the metering unit.

  • Patent number: 4949882
Abstract: A pouring spout for a liquid container has a film attached to a pouring hole from inside of the container and a tab tape for covering the pouring hole from outside of the container. The film includes a portion for forming a pouring opening corresponding to the pouring hole, and a lip forming portion along the portion for forming the pouring opening. The tab tape is peelably adhered to the film and a peripheral edge of the pouring hole, the joining portion between the film and the tab tape being inflated outwardly or inwardly of the container. When the tab tape is torn from the container, the lip forming portion is positioned to protrude outwardly.

  • Patent number: 4581003
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a container for filling with juice or the like at a high temperature includes applying a container body to a mandrel having an outer surface corresponding to the shape of a cylinder and a plurality of recessed portions located about the circumference of the mandrel. The recessed portions are inwardly recessed from the substantially cylindrical outer surface and are separated by a plurality of connecting portions corresponding substantially to the cylindrical outer surface. The container body is subjected to vacuum attraction through a plurality of apertures provided in the mandrel whereby the container body is drawn into the plurality of recessed portions to conform the shape of the container body to the shape of the mandrel. The container is thereafter disengaged from the mandrel by feeding compressed air through the plurality of apertures of the mandrel.
