  • Patent number: 5315847
Abstract: A washing machine comprises a washing/dehydrating tank, a water storage tank in which the washing/dehydrating tank is disposed, and a sensor for detecting an electric conductivity of washing water in the washing/dehydrating tank and the water storage tank. The sensor is provided with a pair of electrodes to take into account a variation of an electric resistance of the washing water therebetween, which is representative of the electric conductivity of the washing water, thereby controlling a washing operation of the washing machine. The sensor has a CR oscillation circuit including a resistance which represents the electric conductivity of the water between the electrodes. A variation of the electric conductivity of the washing water is converted into an oscillation frequency variation of the oscillation circuit, and the operation of the washing machine is controlled on the basis of the thus varying oscillation frequency.

  • Patent number: 5072473
Abstract: In a full-automated washer, a cloth amount sensor detects a quantity of an object being washed which is thrown into a washing drum as a value inclusive of information regarding a degree of bulkiness of the object to be washed. A processing circuit included in the full-automated washer is responsive to a detection output signal from the cloth amount sensor to determine a water supply amount, a cleanser feed amount, a stirring time and a rinsing time. The cloth amount sensor is mounted to a stirring motor. Upon an OFF-state of the motor, the detection output signal is generated by measuring a voltage waveform induced by inertial motion which varies in accordance the degree of bulkiness of the object to be washed.

  • Patent number: 4860990
Abstract: A volute chamber having an inflow port is provided at the inlet of an extraction hole of a diaphragm valve. The volute chamber is formed with a lid in a hollow portion of a synthetic resin material member of the diaphragm member. The volute chamber is formed with a cap as volute chamber forming piece at the lower portion of the synthetic resin material member. A small projection is formed at the inlet of the extraction hole and protrudes in the volute chamber. A rib having an inflow port is formed partially at the outer surface of the cap. The spinning speed of the water in the volute chamber and the fluid circulation resistance in the volute chamber become large. The water supply to a back pressure chamber reduces and the closing speed of the diaphragm valve decreases. The water hammering action in the water inlet valve can be mitigated due to the rapid closing operation of the diaphragm valve.

  • Patent number: 4819261
Abstract: A public telephone set includes a communication enabling unit, a signal detector, a timer, and a CPU. The communication enabling unit enables incoming communication upon formation of a DC loop based on an incoming call. The signal detector detects a protocol signal from a maintenance center or a service center via the office line. The timer is started upon formation of the DC loop. The CPU instructs to send out alarm information to the maintenance or the service center via the office line when the signal detector generates a detection output during an operation of the timer.

  • Patent number: 4644109
Abstract: In a coin telephone, a self diagnosis function and an alarm information transmission function upon formation of a loop in an off-hook mode are utilized. Upon reception of a ringing signal from a maintenance control center, self diagnosis is performed. Upon detection of a failure, a content of the failure and a control number of the coin telephone are sent to the maintenance control center. A failure check for a coin telephone which is not frequently used can be performed from the telephone center without requiring an off-hook operation.

  • Patent number: 4612418
Abstract: A method for controlling task processes using a minimum of energy. The task processes are divided into two or more groups in accordance with an execution priority. The individual task processes within each group are further prioritized with respect to each other. The method is driven by repetitive processing cycles. During each processing cycle, the highest priority task of the highest priority group is selected and executed. The method assumes a sleep or low power drain state in response to the completion of the execution of a selected task process or when no task process is available for processing and is returned to an operational state in response to the next processing cycle. The task process of the lower priority groups are selected at a longer execution cycle rate which are an integer multiple of the processing cycles.

  • Patent number: 4106670
Abstract: A trigger valve which closes a main valve after a predetermined volume of fluid passes therethrough is equipped with a conversion mechanism arranged in the flow path of the fluid and functioning to translate the amount of fluid flowing through into a proportional amount of motion. A cam mechanism is turned by the conversion mechanism. The trigger valve closes the valve disk automatically due to the function of the cam mechanism when the fluid has flowed in a pre-determined quantity. Examples demonstrate the ability to control the valve means to increase or decrease a pre-determined standard flow of fluid at will by manipulations of a control mechanism.

  • Patent number: 3938489
Abstract: An ignition system for a two-cylinder engine is provided which comprises two ignition signal generators, two ignition coils and two spark plugs for each of the cylinders. The first ignition signal generator controls the first ignition coil and two of the spark plugs are connected in series with the first ignition coil. The second ignition signal generator controls the second ignition coil. The second ignition coil is connected in series with the other two spark plugs. The first and second ignition signal generators operate independently of each other and generate their ignition signals at different time instants. And, of the two spark plugs provided for each cylinder, one is a main spark plug and the other is a combustion promoting spark plug. The main spark plugs are simultaneously controlled by the first ignition signal generator and either one of two combustion promoting spark plugs is controlled, with a time delay, by the second ignition signal generator.
