  • Patent number: 6010064
Abstract: A set of lockers allows a customer to drop off commodities for a service company to pick up. An order is input using an operation screen, and an order sheet which specifies the locker number is issued. A commodity, for example undeveloped film, and the order sheet are put in a transparent request bag and deposited in the locker. When the service company picks up the request bag, the request bag is taken out of the locker, and a bar code on the order sheet is read by a hand scanner. When the order sheet is scanned, the locker it came from is automatically locked, and the next locker which has an undeveloped film order is automatically opened. After processing the film, the developed film and prints are put in a delivery bag, with an attached slip having the locker number to which the bag is to be delivered. Upon delivery to the locker, a first bar code on a slip is read by a hand scanner, and a first locker is unlocked.

  • Patent number: 5442608
Abstract: A disk apparatus comprising a controller receiving commands from a command input device and controlling an entire operation of the disk apparatus. The rotating control function is coupled to the controller for controlling the first motor. The pickupmotor control function is coupled to the controller for controlling the second motor. The pickup control function is coupled to the controller for controlling a focusing operation and a tracking operation of the pickup. And the signal processing function is coupled to the controller for processing a recording signal to be recorded on the disk-shaped recording medium and a reproduced signal read out therefrom. The controller is comprised function-stop function for determining whether or not any command is received from the command input device during a predetermined period of time in a state.

  • Patent number: 5291345
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a magnetic field has a permanent magnet, pivotally supported, which has an approximate cylindrical shape, respective semicircles of a circular section thereof being magnetized as N and S poles, and a driving coil, located in the vicinity of the permanent magnet so that the permanent magnet can partially penetrate inside the loops of the driving coil, the rotation and the positioning of the permanent magnet being controlled by the strength and/or directions of current flow in the driving coil. The apparatus is used for a magneto-optical disk storage. Since the driving coil is close to the permanent magnet, the pivoting of the permanent magnet can be controlled with a fast response. In addition, the apparatus can be made relatively small.

  • Patent number: 4691499
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of tensioning a web packaging material in a form-fill-seal packaging apparatus wherein the web is pulled from a supply roll through web feeding rolls, guided over means for forming it into tubing and fed toward means for feeding the tubing forward, and wherein articles to be packaged are provided in the tubing and sealing operations are performed on the tubing to seal it to form packages. The invention method is characterized in that the web feeding rolls and the tubing feeding means are concurrently started, and when the web feeding rolls and the tubing feeding means are stopped to form a seal on the tubing, the tubing feeding means is stopped slightly later than the web feeding rolls so that the web forward by the web feeding rolls is taken up and pulled toward the tubing feeding means under tension.

  • Patent number: 4576588
Abstract: An apparatus for forming a web of wrapping material into a tubular configuration is disclosed. The apparatus is basically composed of a highly flexible, elongated elastic sheet material secured at one end, the sheet material extending obliquely upwardly and then returning to form a loop, and an actuator mechanically connected to the other end of the sheet material, the actuator being operable to advance and retract the sheet material so as to contract and expand the loop formed by the sheet material.
