Publication number: 20040158643Abstract: By using combinations of a plurality of firewall techniques and making these techniques work together appropriately, problems presented with popular use of always-on Internet connections and end-to-end communications using IPv6 are resolved. This flexible manner of applying access control techniques grants favors to corporate network users, resulting from the popular use of always-on Internet connections and IPv6, e.g., the promotion of teleworking and virtual offices. A traffic control computing device which processes control requests from traffic control devices, provided in a network, coordinates the control actions of the individual traffic control devices appropriately.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2004Publication date: August 12, 2004Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Shinsuke Suzuki, Yoshifumi Atarashi, Naoya Ikeda

Patent number: 6690669Abstract: In an apparatus, there are provided an IP transmitting and receiving unit for transmitting and receiving an IPv4 packet and an IPv6 packet; an IP header converting unit for performing a mutual conversion of the IPv4 packet and the IPv6 packet by an IP header conversion; a DNS substituting unit for receiving a domain information capturing request sent from an IPv4 terminal or an IPv6 terminal and substituting its process; an IPv4 address capturing unit for capturing an IPv4 address from a DHCP server; and an IP address conversion information holding unit for holding an IPv6 address of the IPv6 terminal and the IPv4 address captured by the IPv4 address capturing unit in correspondence to each other. Thus, a communication with the IPv4 terminal can be executed without preliminarily fixedly allocating the IPv4 address to the IPv6 terminal.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2000Date of Patent: February 10, 2004Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kazuaki Tsuchiya, Naoya Ikeda, Shinichi Hamamoto, Ken Watanabe, Toshikazu Yasue, Yoshifumi Atarashi, Munechika Sumikawa, Takahisa Miyamoto, Hidemitsu Higuchi

Publication number: 20030195919Abstract: A system includes at least two servers for executing the same application protocol among a plurality of servers, load balancing apparatus respectively connected to the servers, and a router connected to these load balancing apparatuses and to a network. Receiving an access packet from the network, the router selects and routes an arbitrary load balancing apparatus. Receiving the access packet, each load balancing apparatus selects an arbitrary server and transmits the access packet.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 21, 2003Publication date: October 16, 2003Inventors: Tatsuya Watanuki, Kazuo Sugai, Naoya Ikeda, Yoshifumi Atarashi, Hidemitsu Higuchi

Patent number: 6598071Abstract: Unique addresses are provided to identify and communicate with each of a plurality of servers and a client connected on a network. A group address which differs from the unique address is assigned to any of the plurality of servers. The client specifies that group address when receiving service from the server. The traffic status of the communication path between server and client is monitored and if factors such as communication speed and response time have exceeded a preset threshold, the group address is dynamically passed to another server. Thereby a communications system is able to dynamically switch servers, the source for generating traffic, on the network without rerouting of paths on which traffic is concentrated and requiring no change settings or addition of control functions by the client and further able to effectively use portions of the network having low usage rates.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1999Date of Patent: July 22, 2003Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Kenji Hayashi, Naoya Ikeda, Yoshifumi Atarashi

Patent number: 5485623Abstract: An information processor operating with a battery writes data which exists in a register of a CPU at that time into a predetermined stack area for transfer of an RAM when a suspend command is received in the normal operation state of the processor and shifts to the suspended state that the power supply to the minimum circuit components including the RAM is maintained and the power supply to the other circuit components is stopped. When insufficient power of the battery is detected in the suspended state, the information processor is started temporarily so as to automatically transfer and store the data in the RAM into a storage device using a non-volatile memory device.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1994Date of Patent: January 16, 1996Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Yoshiki Kurokawa, Kiyokazu Nishioka, Hideki Kamimaki, Yoshifumi Atarashi
