  • Patent number: 5909871
Abstract: A sheet post-processing apparatus includes at least one sheet receiving bin for receiving sheets. A sheet discharger discharges sheets into the sheet receiving bins and a post-processor post-processes the sheets stored in the sheet receiving bins. A support supports the sheet discharger, for movement between a first location at a discharging location for discharging the sheets into the sheet receiving bins and a second location at a retracted position away from the first location. A moving device moves the sheet discharging means from the first location to the second location when relative movement is imparted between the sheets and the post-processor so that the post-processor is activated at a predetermined location along the edges of the sheets in the sheet receiving bins.
