  • Patent number: 4612268
Abstract: A method of forming a color picture tube fluorescent screen by so-called dry process. After a photosticky substance mainly containing a diazonium compound is coated on a panel inner face, phosphor is adhered to portions of the compound which have been exposed to light through a color selection electrode and rendered sticky, and surplus phosphor applied on unexposed portions of the compound is removed, the above steps being consecutively repeated for phosphors of three colors to form picture elements of triads of three color phosphors on the panel inner face. The panel inner face is then treated with an aqueous solution containing at least polymer coagulant.

  • Patent number: 4537851
Abstract: A water-soluble, positive-working photoresist composition is disclosed which comprises water-soluble aromatic diazonium salt, water-soluble phenolic compound, and water-soluble polymeric compound. When the film of this composition is irradiated with a pattern of actinic ray and then brought into contact with an alkaline gas or solution, the coating of unexposed areas hardens to become water-insoluble. Preferably, when the film is brought into contact with a suspension of powder or dry powder after being hardened, a positive pattern of powder is obtained by the development with water.

  • Patent number: 4391885
Abstract: A fluorescent screen of a cathode ray tube is prepared by forming a film of photosensitive sticky substance, for example, an aqueous solution of a copolymer of a complex salt of diazonium salt and zinc chloride, on an inner surface of a face plate of the tube, exposing the film to light to render portions thereof sticky, applying a powdery substance, for example, phosphors of three colors, onto the film to cause the powdery substance to adhere to the portions of the film rendered sticky, removing excess powder to form a film pattern of the powdery substance, causing the substance responsible for stickiness to ooze out onto the film pattern, applying another powdery substance, for example, graphite onto the film pattern and removing an excess of another powder substance, thus forming the fluorescent screen. The invention is applicable to the manufacture of a fluorescent screen for use in a color picture tube, a monochromatic picture tube and a penetration tube.

  • Patent number: 4324850
Abstract: In forming a fluorescent screen for a color picture tube having triads of phosphor materials of the three primary colors arranged in a predetermined pattern on the inner surface of a panel, a photosensitive film which exhibits stickiness when exposed to a threshold amount of light is formed on the inner surface of the panel. Locations of the photosensitive film where the three color phosphor materials respectively occupy are exposed to light from a light source through a shadow mask mounted to the panel. The amount of exposure light for a first color phosphor material is the threshold or above and that for second and third phosphor materials is below the threshold. After completion of the light exposures for the first to third color phosphor materials through the shadow mask, the shadow mask is dismounted from the panel and the first color phosphor material is deposited onto the photosensitive film.

  • Patent number: 4273842
Abstract: A patternwise coated powder layer can be formed by a process comprising the steps of coating a photosensitive composition, which contains an aromatic diazonium salt as a photosensitive component and becomes sticky by exposure, onto the surface of a substrate to form a thin layer, subjecting the thin layer to patternwise exposure with actinic radiation to produce stickiness at the exposed area, and then contacting powder particles with the thin layer after exposure to make the thin layer to accept the powder particles according to the powder acceptability of the thin layer. According to this process, for example, the phosphor screen of a color picture tube can simply be produced.LIST OF PRIOR ART (37 CFR 1.56 (a))The following reference is cited to show the state of the art:Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No.

  • Patent number: 4267204
Abstract: In the manufacture of a striped phosphor screen for a black matrix type color picture tube, a pattern of stripes of a light-absorbing material is first formed on the faceplate of a glass envelope to define transparent striped windows thereon by a known process and then phosphor materials are applied to the striped windows by the use of a nozzle assembly having at least one nozzle capable of discharging a phosphor material, without owing to the photolighography. The coating apparatus comprises a nozzle assembly including one or more nozzles, drivers for effecting relative movement between the nozzle and the faceplate of the glass envelope in a first direction in the plane of the faceplate and perpendicular to the stripes, in a third direction perpendicular to the faceplate and in a second direction longitudinal of the stripes, sensors for detecting the position of the nozzle, generators for producing a positional error signal and control for controlling the position of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4263384
Abstract: A photosensitive film applied onto the inner surface of a faceplate of color picture tube is exposed to light through a shadow mask. The exposed portions of the photosensitive film are further hardened by the photo-cross linking property until they exhibit hydrophobic property. Since these further hardened portions repel a light absorbing material, for example graphite, the graphite adheres to only the portions of the faceplate between the exposed portions. The surplus light absorbing material deposited on the further hardened portions is removed by development, whereby a black matrix surface can be obtained having a pattern of the light absorbing material adhered to the faceplate.
