  • Patent number: 4304159
Abstract: A machine tool for working elongated rod-like materials in rotation, particularly an automatic screw machine capable of working thin and long materials with a high degree of accuracy comparable to that of a headstock moving type automatic screw machine without involving any error in the indexing of the cutting tools for the work. The tool stand is reduced in weight, and movable along the longitudinal axis of the work, so that the machine is easy and inexpensive to manufacture.

  • Patent number: 4130033
Abstract: A multiple spindle automatic screw machine wherein in order to work small-diameter and relatively lengthy rods with high accuracy, the rods to be worked are supported by guide bushes incorporated integral with working tools into tool brackets in a working position with a tooling column held close to a spindle column, the tooling column being provided with a working tool drive mechanism for allowing the working tools to effect their working operation, the working tools each being provided with a working tool adjusting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 3968705
Abstract: An overload safety device is provided for use on a feed mechanism to control the feed of such devices as a headstock, tool rest, or rotary table. The overload safety device includes a mounting means for maintaining a feed screw in a fixed position with respect to an axis of rotation of the screw and for permitting the screw to move a predetermined distance along the axis in response to a load placed thereon. The safety device further includes control means responsive to the movement of the screw for producing a control signal when the movement of the screw exceeds the predetermined distance, thus indicating an overload condition.
