  • Patent number: 6170911
Abstract: A child seat has an upper base section (1) and a lower base section (201) for changing an inclination angle between these base sections. The upper base section 1 and the lower base section (201) are journaled rotatably about a common journal axis (201A) at the front portion of the base. At a rear end side, an inclination angle changing mechanism (200) is installed for adjusting a spacing between the upper base section (1) and the lower base section (201) opposite the journal axis (201A). This structure provides a child seat allowing adjustment of the angle of inclination of a support surface supporting a child even if the child supporting surface extends lengthwise of a passenger car seat to which the base formed by the two base sections 1 and 201, is attached. This leveling of the child supporting surface is possible if the child seat (2) is rotatable about a vertical axis relative to its base.

  • Patent number: 5685605
Abstract: A seat (3) in a chair (1) is suspended by two swingable links (4, 5) to be swingable with respect to a base (2) with legs (6, 7) and a seat holder (12). The distance or spacing (S2) between lower ends of the two links (4, 5) is changeable or adjustable so that the links extend in parallel to each other or the links extend at an angle to each other, thereby varying a swinging mode of the seat (3). For this purpose the lower ends of the two links (4, 5) are connected to two sliders (21, 22) which are guided and operable to move in directions toward each other or away from each other, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5681084
Abstract: A child seat apparatus includes a seat, a reclinable backrest, and at least either a pair of side guards rotatably mounted on the backrest or a pair of armrests mounted on the seat, wherein the lateral spacing between the side guards or the armrests is changeable. An interlocking mechanism links the backrest with the side guards or the armrests so that the space between the side guards or the armrests is changed in association with the inclination of the backrest. Specifically, this space is widened as the backrest is reclined. Such an interlocking mechanism, for example, includes driving pins that are driven with an upper end of a bridging bar for supporting the backrest in a reclined state while a pair of driven slots are provided in the side guards for receiving the driving pins respectively. The driven slots are directed at an angle relative to each other so as to be closer to each other at upper ends thereof.

  • Patent number: 5480177
Abstract: In a chair which can change the height of its seat by changing cross angles formed by a pair of first leg members and a pair of second leg members which are rotatably connected with each other at intermediate portions thereof respectively, a caster mounting member is mounted on a lower end portion of each leg member to be rotatable about a horizontally directed axis, and a rotary yoke of a caster is mounted on the caster mounting member to be rotatable about a vertically directed axis. The caster mounting member is connected with a leg mounting member by a connecting link, thereby defining a parallel crank mechanism by the leg member, the leg mounting member, the caster mounting member and the connecting link. Thus, the casters which are mounted on lower end portions of at least either the first or second leg members can regularly serve functions thereof properly regardless of change in inclination of the leg members.
