Patent number: 5724904Abstract: A sewing machine control device performs a closed loop control of an induction motor without using an encoder for detecting the motor speed. The control device includes an inverter for driving the induction motor, and controls the inverter output so that the actual speed of the motor is brought into coincidence with a target speed instructed from a speed instruction device. When the control device executes the inverter control, it uses not only the target speed fed from the speed instruction device but also a detection signal generated from a needle position detector that represents the position of a needle bar and the moving speed thereof.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1996Date of Patent: March 10, 1998Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ikuzo Kondo, Yoshiharu Higuchi, Kazuhisa Ito

Patent number: 5229949Abstract: A sewing system includes a plurality of sewing machines and a managing apparatus for managing sewing operations of the sewing machines. The managing apparatus determines a type of a work to be sewn by each of the sewing machines and sewing steps for such work, and supplies an identification code thereof to the sewing machines. A controller of the sewing machine reads out sewing data corresponding to the identification code from sewing data storage, and controls the sewing machine in accordance with the sewing data.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 1991Date of Patent: July 20, 1993Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ikuzo Kondo, Yoshiharu Higuchi, Tomoyuki Fujita

Patent number: 5069149Abstract: A sewing machine including a mercury switch for detecting tilt of the sewing machine. When the tilt of the sewing machine is detected by the mercury switch, a machine motor of the sewing machine is inhibited from being driven. Accordingly, even if a foot switch for driving the machine motor is depressed under the tilted condition of the sewing machine, the machine motor is not driven, thereby improving the safety of the machine. Furthermore, when the sewing machine is tilted during driving of the machine motor, the inhibition of drive of the machine motor is canceled, and a driving speed of the machine motor is set to a low speed. Under this condition, an operator can easily adjust a fabric feeding device, a thread cutting device and a rotating hook.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 1991Date of Patent: December 3, 1991Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshiharu Higuchi, Kazuhisa Ito

Patent number: 4603184Abstract: A process for producing .alpha.-olefin polymers is proposed wherein the catalyst prepared and used therein is superior in the shelf stability and heat stability. The process comprises reacting TiCl.sub.4 with a reaction product (I) of an organoaluminum compound with an electron donor to obtain a solid product (II), which is then subjected to polymerization treatment with an .alpha.-olefin, and further reacted with an electron donor and an electron acceptor to obtain a solid product (III), which is then combined with an organoaluminum compound, to obtain a catalyst, in the presence of which .alpha.-olefin(s) are polymerized. The catalyst can be further preactivated with an .alpha.-olefin in advance of its use for the polymerization.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1983Date of Patent: July 29, 1986Assignee: Chisso CorporationInventors: Akihiro Sato, Toshihiro Uwai, Masami Tachibana, Kenji Matsuda, Yoshiharu Higuchi

Patent number: 4387198Abstract: A process for producing .alpha.-olefin polymers characterized by employing an organomagnesium compound in the preparation of a preactivated catalyst therefor is provided. The resulting polymers have particularly a higher rigidity in addition to various superior properties. The process comprises reacting a trivalent metal halide with a divalent metal compound to obtain a solid product (I); reacting this product with an organomagnesium compound, an electron donor (ED) and an electron acceptor (EA), once to 10 times, and at that time, using TiCl.sub.4 at least once as the (EA) to obtain a solid product (II); combining this product with an organoaluminum compound (OAl) and an (ED), and at that time, subjecting a combination of (II) and (OAl) or that of (II), (OAl) and (ED) to polymerization treatment with an .alpha.-olefin, and in the case of the former combination, further adding (ED), to obtain a preactivated catalyst; and polymerizing .alpha.-olefin(s) in the presence of this catalyst.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1980Date of Patent: June 7, 1983Assignee: Chisso CorporationInventors: Akihiro Sato, Masami Tachibana, Kazutsune Kikuta, Yoshiharu Higuchi, Masazumi Miyajima
