  • Patent number: 5325209
Abstract: A multiplex image forming apparatus remains in a standby state for multiple functions including a copier function, a facsimile function and a printer function at all times and, in a receive mode at night, fully deactivates devices to be not used, thereby saving power and reducing noise. The apparatus has a power source for a copier, and an application extending section capable of combining a facsimile function with the apparatus and a power source for a multiplex configuration for driving the application extending section. A first and a second power source switch is located at an input section preceding the two power sources. A detecting circuit is connected to the first power source switch to detect the turn-on and turn-off of the switch. Detection signal output control means transfers a detection signal from the detecting circuit to a control circuit only when the second power source switch is turned on and the first power source switch is turned off.

  • Patent number: 4967212
Abstract: An image recorder capable of recording an image by a predetermined line width with no regard to the operating conditions and ambient conditions by causing the line width of an image into coincidence with a predetermined referece line width. A driver controllably drives an exposing device in response to optical data. A line width sensor means the line width of a visible image developed by a developing device. Control means controls, in response to the line width sensed by the sensor, the driver such that the line width coincides with a predetermined reference line width, and corrects the controllable drive of the exposing device by the driver.

  • Patent number: 4943828
Abstract: An apparatus applicable to an image forming apparatus allows an image carrier and a cartridge accommodating image forming process units therein to be readily positioned relative to each other and allows the cartridge to be replaced with ease. The equipment has a cover on which a positioning member is provided. When the cover is closed, the positioning member positions the image carrier and cartridge which are received in the equipment relative to each other to in turn set up a predetermined relative position of the image carrier and process units. In the event of replacement of the cartridge and image carrier, a guide member is used to guide the cartridge relative to the equipment.
