Patent number: 10576775Abstract: Provided is a knock type writing instrument provided with a simple mechanism allowing a stable fretting operation or the like. A knock type writing instrument 1 is provided with: a shaft cylinder 2; a refill 5 arranged inside the shaft cylinder 2; a spring 6 biasing the refill 5 backward; an operation part 20 pressed forward against a biasing force of the spring 6 in a knocking operation; and a main rotor 30, and is switchable between a writing state and a non-writing state with the knocking operation. The knock type writing instrument 1 is further provided with: a knock locking member 50 movable forward and backward inside the shaft cylinder 2 due to gravity; and a locking part 60 provided on a side of the shaft cylinder 2 and capable of being locked with the knock locking member 50. When a front end of the shaft cylinder 2 is directed upward, the knock locking member 50 moves backward to be locked with the locking part 60 to prevent forward movement of the operation part 20.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2015Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Assignee: Mitsubishi Pencil Company, LimitedInventors: Yoshiharu Namiki, Kazuhiko Furukawa, Yusuke Nakamura, Kazuhiko Takanashi, Atsushi Nakashima, Yoshihiro Manta

Patent number: 9636940Abstract: Provided is a writing instrument suited to ballpoint pens, marking pens and the like in which a flow pressure of an ink applied to a pen tip is controlled to a fixed level to prevent an ink direct flow phenomenon reverse flow phenomenon. The above writing instrument comprises a pen tip disposed at a front part of an ink tank, an ink received in the ink tank, a follower filled at a rear part of the ink, and a capillary porous member provided with a capillary force, which is arranged at a space part between a rear part of the follower and a rear end part of the ink tank in a state in which the follower is filled, wherein the pen tip is sealed when a cap is put on the writing instrument.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2013Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: MITSUBISHI PENCIL COMPANY, LIMITEDInventors: Toshimi Kamitani, Satoru Banzai, Yoshiharu Namiki, Yosuke Setagawa, Hitoshi Kino, Tooru Nakajima, Takanori Suzuki

Patent number: 8292530Abstract: A slide body (6) is arranged in a cut-away portion of a holder (1) under a clip (2a) so as to not hinder writing or portability, and a safety mechanism is constituted so as to be engaged with the clip (2a). Due to functions of a knock rod cam (4a) of a knock rod (4) and a knock cam (3a) of a rotor (3), further, the rotor (3) is rotated and moved forward responsive to each knocking operation, a refill (7) is brought to a writing position and a holding position alternately responsive to each knocking operation due to a cam mechanism provided in the inner wall of an inner cylinder (2) and a reactive force of a spring (5). A slide body cam (6a) provided on the slide body (6) is incorporated in a portion of the cam mechanism so that the knock type writing instrument thrusts the pen point out, by one knock even after the safety operation.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2008Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: Mitsubishi Pencil Company, LimitedInventors: Hisami Tamano, Yoshiharu Namiki

Patent number: 7931415Abstract: Upon depressing a knock rod in a state of writing of FIG. 8A, a cam protuberance 3b of a rotor turns rightward to assume a position shown in FIG. 8B. Upon removing a finger, the cam protuberance 3b turns sliding on a tilted surface, arrives at a position shown in FIG. 8C through a first vertical motion (distance d) and, further, arrives at a position shown in FIG. 8D through a second vertical motion (distance e). Here, a tilted surface of cam protuberance 3b comes in collision with a tilted surface of an inner cylinder cam 2b twice, and shocks are transmitted to a refill 7. By forming a step between the front half and the rear half of the tilted surface of the inner cylinder cam 2b, however, a distance of vertical motion of the cam protuberance 3b each time is shortened to decrease the shock of collision imparted to the refill each time.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2008Date of Patent: April 26, 2011Assignee: Mitsubishi Pencil Company, LimitedInventors: Yoshiharu Namiki, Hisami Tamano
