  • Patent number: 6240262
Abstract: A toner supply device comprises: a toner cartridge, which is used for an image forming system, including a substantially cylindrical container for housing therein a toner and which is supplied when the toner is insufficient for the image forming system; an information recording part which is provided on the peripheral surface of the container and on which information including that the toner is a certified product has been recorded; a rotating unit, connected to the tip portion of the container when the container is attached, for rotating the container along the peripheral surface; a cleaning unit, provided in the vicinity of the container, for contacting the information recording part of the container in response to the operation of the rotating unit during the reading operation of a reading sensor, to sequentially clean the information recording part by the rotation of the container; and a reading sensor, provided in the vicinity of the container and in front of the cleaning unit in rotational directions of

  • Patent number: 5130756
Abstract: A guiding opening is provided at the upper part of the side wall of a vertical conveying duct when the duct side wall extends horizontally. The upper end of the conveying auger 40 located in the vertical duct is bent sideward so as to be introduced into the guiding opening, and this introduced end portion is pivoted on the pivot portion. In such a manner, the end portion is rotatably pivoted and the other end is set free. Thus, developer introduced into the vertical conveying duct is carried thereinto in the axial direction of the conveying auger, and conveyed by rotation of the auger. Then, developer is exhausted in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4951936
Abstract: A separation unit includes separation pawls for separating paper from a photosensitive drum, and a second shaft for supporting the separation pawls. Each separation pawl has a mounting hole extending therethrough and a slit opening the mounting hole. The second shaft has a mounting portion which cannot pass through the slit and a chamfered portion which is formed continuous with the mounting portion. The portion of shaft where the chamfered portion is formed can pass through the slit. An annular bush is loosely fitted on the second shaft so as to be pivotal and movable from the mounting portion to the chamfered portion. The bush is detachably fitted in the hole of the separation pawl and supports the separation pawl. A holder is attached to the second shaft so as to regulate the movement of the bush toward the chamfered portion of the second shaft when the pawl is used, and to allow the movement of the bush toward the chamfered portion of the second shaft when the pawl is attached/detached.

  • Patent number: 4591261
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises a rotatable, drum-shaped photosensitive member carrying thereon a latent image responsive to an original image, a first developing roller adapted to supply a first developing agent to the photosensitive member while rotating, thereby developing the latent image, second developing roller adapted to supply the second developing agent to the photosensitive member while rotating, thereby developing the latent image and a first and second motor assembly for rotating the photosensitive member and selectively rotating the first and second developing rollers to move the photosensitive member relatively to the first developing roller at a first relative speed when the first developing roller is rotated and to move the photosensitive member relatively to the second developing roller at a second relative speed different from the first relative speed when the second developing roller is rotated.
