  • Patent number: 4503662
Abstract: In the piecing operation, the broken ends of a yarn and a fiber bundle are sucked into a suction nozzle, and therein are entangled due to twists imparted to the fiber bundle by first vortices utilized for forming a fasciated yarn. The broken end of the yarn may be twisted in reverse of the fiber bundle by second vortices. Further, third vortices weaker than the first vortices may be used instead of the first vortices. The apparatus comprises jets for generating the second and third vortices and piping for transporting air to the jets and from the suction nozzle, as well as a control circuit thereof.

  • Patent number: 4498216
Abstract: A textile fiber drafting apparatus is disclosed, according to which the drafting bottom rollers in each line along the spinning units of a spinning frame are arranged in such a way that each two adjacently juxtaposed bottom rollers make a single block for each two spinning units, so that each bottom roller has an open, free end through which an apron may be replaced with a new one or fibers entangled on the roller may be removed with extreme ease. Between each such two spinning units is provided an arrangement for driving the bottom rollers thus disposed, including driving and driven mechanisms.

  • Patent number: 4479348
Abstract: A spinning apparatus for a fasciated yarn is provided which comprises a fiber-opening means provided with a combing roller, a fiber-collecting means including an inlet member and a rotor, a twist-imparting means consisting of an air nozzle, and a yarn take-up means. A sliver opened by the combing roller is fed to the interior of the rotor through the inlet member. Since the rotor and the inlet member rotate reversely to each other, the fibers are evenly distributed on an inner surface of the rotor. An intermediate yarn drawn out from the rotor is supplied to the air nozzle under an overfeeding condition, whereby a good fasciating effect is imparted to the resultant yarn by a vortex. Prior to feeding the yarn to the air nozzle, the yarn may be drafted between two pairs of rollers. The apparatus is easy to maintain because a roller drafting means having an apron which rapidly wears due to high-speed processing is not utilized.

  • Patent number: 4426840
Abstract: An open-end spinning machine having a plurality of spinning units (5) arranged side by side in a row extending in the longitudinal direction of the spinning machine. Each of the spinning units (5) has a filter (11) disposed at the front surface thereof and extending for substantially the entire width thereof. All the filters (11) arranged on the spinning units (5) disposed at one side of the spinning machine lie on a substantially identical imaginary plane slightly upwardly inclined from a horizontal plane when seen from the front to the rear. Each spinning unit includes a duct means (13) having air passages (15, 23, 27, 31) extending from the openings (13a, 13b, 13c, 13d) located adjacent to the filter (11) to the upper surface of a feeding roller (25), the upper and lower surfaces of a combing roller (21), and the periphery of the combing roller (21).

  • Patent number: 4028870
Abstract: In a multiple twister provided with at least a first twisting mechanism and a second twisting mechanism successively arranged, when a yarn supplied from a yarn package held in said multiple twister contacts component elements of the twister, there is a tendency of creating fuzzy fibers projecting from the main body of the yarn. Such fuzzy fibers are laid down against the main body of the supplied yarn by contacting a contacting member disposed at an upstream terminal of a first twisting yarn passage formed in the first twisting mechanism and/or stroked against the main body of the first twisted yarn by contacting a friction surface particularly formed in a yarn guide disposed at a downstream terminal of a second twisting yarn passage formed in the second twisting mechanism so that the laid down fuzzy fibers are twisted into the main body of the yarn.

  • Patent number: 3977169
Abstract: A sound reducing device in a textile machine including a plurality of spindle assemblies driven by a travelling belt and each forming a balloon of yarn upon rotation thereof. The spindle assembly comprises a first source of noise, which are the travelling belt and the spindle wharves, and a second source of noise, which are the balloon forming sections of the spindle assemblies. The sound reducing device is characterized in that one of the first and second sources of noise is covered by a first sound reducing boundary and the other of the first and second noise sources as well as the first sound reducing boundary is disposed within a second sound reducing boundary.
