  • Publication number: 20130038154
Abstract: A fixing structure of a radial lead of a rotating electrical machine connects slip rings provided to a rotation shaft of a rotor and axial leads disposed in a center hole of the rotation shaft and supplying a current to a rotor coil. A radial lead is inserted into a radial lead hole penetrating through the rotation shaft in a radial direction from the center hole and a tapered male screw formed at one end is threaded into a tapered female screw formed in the axial lead while the other end is electrically connected to the slip ring. A sealing member installed to a step portion of the radial lead hole is fastened, via a spacer, by a fastening nut threaded into a straight screw of the radial lead, so that a side of the center hole is maintained airtight from an outside.

  • Patent number: 7343514
Abstract: A relaying device for relaying data transferred from first storage unit to a second storage unit, is provided outside a range presumed to be affected by a disaster, when a disaster, such as an earthquake, has broken out in an installation site of a host of a normal system (host computer) and the first storage unit. Moreover, the relaying device is placed at such a location that the data transfer time between the first storage unit and the relaying device is shorter than the data transfer time in case the first and second storage units directly transfer data with each other. On receipt of data from the first storage unit, the relaying device notifies the first storage unit of the completion of reception of the data before completing transmission of the data to the second storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20070177739
Abstract: Disclosed is a data replication technique for providing erasure encoded replication of large data sets over a geographically distributed replica set. The technique utilizes a multicast tree to store, forward, and erasure encode the data set. The erasure encoding of data may be performed at various locations within the multicast tree, including the source, intermediate nodes, and destination nodes. In one embodiment, the system comprises a source node for storing the original data set, a plurality of intermediate nodes, and a plurality of leaf nodes for storing the unique replica fragments. The nodes are configured as a multicast tree to convert the original data into the unique replica fragments by performing distributed erasure encoding at a plurality of levels of the multicast tree.

  • Patent number: 6643734
Abstract: A control device for a disk array of the present invention includes a first element which accesses a plurality of disks of the disk array and a timer which counts to a first timeout value when all of the disks are normal and a second timeout value when one of the disks is defective, unless the first element receives response from the disks. The control device for a disk array also has a second element which determines that an access fails if the timer reaches one of the first or second timeout values. A control method for a disk array of the present invention includes accessing a plurality of disks of the disk array, counting to a first timeout value when all of the disks are normal and a second timeout value when one of the disks is defective, unless there is a response during the accessing step, and determining that an access fails if one of the first or second timeout value is reached during the counting step.

  • Patent number: 6526489
Abstract: The apparatus enables access authorization to be assigned solely to specific host devices. A control device comprises: an address registration unit, in which the host address of each host device has been registered for authorizing access, a command interpretation and execution unit which on receipt of a command from a host device via a host device interface outputs the host address of the host device based on the command, and an address verification unit for verifying the host address output from a command interpretation and execution unit against the host address registered in the address registration unit, as well as determining whether or not the particular host device has access authorization. The command interpretation and execution unit incorporates an authorization pending function, so that on receipt of a command from a host device, the command is interpreted and executed only after access is authorized by the address verification unit.

  • Patent number: 6490636
Abstract: The present invention has as an object thereof to efficiently execute a plurality of I/O commands in a secondary storage device. The tags of the I/O commands which are issued from a data processing device to a secondary storage device comprise the tag A part and the tag B part. The same value is attached as the tag A part to a group of I/O commands which are to be executed in a continuous manner. Values of the tag B parts are provided in order to distinguish I/O commands having the same value of the tag A part. In the secondary storage device, when an I/O command is received from the data processing device, when it is shown by the tag B part that the I/O command is the first command in an I/O command group, or alternatively, when an I/O command having the same tag A part value is not stored in the queue, the I/O command received is added to the final end of the queue.

  • Patent number: 6212571
Abstract: The invention provides a server wherein a plurality of unit servers are arranged in parallel to each other to allow an increase in the number of clients and continuous data that can be transferred without interruption to clients using a comparatively small number of buffers. A video server includes unit servers including a file apparatus having video data stored discretely therein. When a preparation sign reporting section of a unit server reports a sign, a file read-out section of the unit server reads out the video data and stores them in a buffer, and in response to a sign of a distribution start sign reporting section, a distribution section starts distribution of the video data. A predetermined number of unit servers repeat reading out and distribution of discretely stored video data cyclically at timings set for them in this manner. Consequently, the buffers can be utilized effectively to effect distribution without interruption.
