  • Patent number: 8754937
Abstract: Disclosed is a video signal processing apparatus including a telecine conversion signal detecting unit configured to detect whether or not an input video signal in an interlaced system is a telecine converted video signal; an IP converting unit configure to convert the input video signal into a signal in a progressive system according to a detected result obtained by the telecine conversion signal detecting unit; and a noise level detecting unit configured to detect a noise level of the input video signal. The video signal processing apparatus further includes a control unit configured to control a detection sensitivity of the telecine conversion signal detecting unit such that the input video signal is detected as the telecine converted video signal less easily if a noise level is increased based on the detected result obtained from the noise level detecting unit.

  • Patent number: 6111559
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus having an amplitude detecting unit for detecting an amplitude of a supplied video signal; a liquid crystal display for displaying an image on a main surface based on the video signal; a backlight for giving off light with a luminance which can be freely set from the back surface of the liquid crystal display to the main surface; and a luminance setting unit for variably setting the luminance of the backlight based on the amplitude detected by the amplitude detecting unit.

  • Patent number: 5936602
Abstract: In a ramp signal producing apparatus, a ramp signal is produced under low clock signal frequency in a compact circuit arrangement. Luminance control and a white balance control are carried out by the ramp signal in a liquid crystal display. The ramp signal producing apparatus is comprised of: an up/down counter for either counting up, or counting down a clock signal supplied thereto; amplitude amount converting means for converting the amplitude of the supplied clock signal into such an amplitude value corresponding to the count value of the up/down counter and for converting the amplitude value in such a manner that a change amount per one count value is increased during the count down operation by the up/down counter; and ramp signal producing means for producing such a ramp signal with an amplitude corresponding to the converted amplitude value.

  • Patent number: 5497403
Abstract: A feedback clamping circuit effects a clamping control by utilizing a digital information or noise detection. Even when a source is a VTR, disc or the like having a large noise amount, a stable clamping operation can be effected by controlling a gain or dead area width of a feedback loop in response to an identified result of a digital control code signal previously involved in an input signal or detected result of a noise amount contained in the input signal.
