  • Patent number: 5462604
Abstract: An ultrasonic vibrator has a single natural frequency for radiating ultrasonic energy into a cleaning solution to clean and deburr workpieces that are immersed in the cleaning solution. A plurality of oscillating signals having respective different frequencies which are integral multiples of the natural frequency of the ultrasonic vibrator are generated, and successively outputted for respective periods of time thereby to generate a composite signal which is composed of a time series of the oscillating signals. The composite signal is applied as a drive signal to the ultrasonic oscillator to oscillate the ultrasonic vibrator. The oscillating signals may be outputted successively for said respective periods of time or intermittently with quiescent periods inserted therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5423131
Abstract: Plate-like workpieces such as thin ceramic plates which are ultrasonically cleaned are housed in a tray having an air-permeable bottom plate and a plurality of air-impermeable sidewall plates extending from peripheral edges of the bottom plate. To dry the cleaned workpieces, the tray is placed in a drying tank and supported on a support base on the bottom of the drying tank at an inclined attitude. The drying tank is combined with a hot-air duct which is detachably coupled to respective edges of the sidewall plates of the tray when the tray is supported on the support base. The hot-air duct supplies hot air into an interior space of the tray which is surrounded by the sidewall plates. A suction duct is coupled to the bottom plate of the tray supported on the support base and draws hot air supplied from the hot-air duct from within the interior space through the bottom plate.

  • Patent number: 5352363
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a process for the removal of an oil in an aqueous liquid wherein after cleaning a workpiece having oil thereon with an aqueous solution of a detergent, the oil contained in the aqueous solution is removed from the aqueous solution. The oil-containing aqueous solution is heated to a predetermined temperature, at which the detergent component does not evaporate, to unite droplets of the oil with each other, thereby making the size of the oil droplets greater, and the oil droplets which have grown greater in size are then separated and removed from the aqueous solution. According to this process, an oil emulsified in the aqueous detergent solution can be separated and removed from the aqueous solution with ease to keep the detergency of the detergent over a long period of time.

  • Patent number: 5186389
Abstract: Disclosed is a spray type ultrasonic washing apparatus using a coaxial nozzle structure which is composed of inner and outer hollow frustums for supplying deaerated washing liquid in the annular passage delimited by the outer and inner frustums and supplying nondeaerated washing liquid in the inner frustum, thus permitting deaerated washing liquid to be enclosed by nondeaerated washing liquid in spraying against work to be washed, thereby isolating deaerated washing liquid from the surrounding atmosphere to prevent invasion of air into the deaerated washing liquid. Thus, cavitation can be formed effectively in the deaerated washing liquid, and washing can be performed at an increased efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4865060
Abstract: Disclosed is an improvement of ultrasonic cleaning system equipped with degassing means or boiling vessel to remove gases from cleaning liquid for activating the formation of cavitation in the cleaning bath. The ultrasonic cleaning system is improved according to the present invention in that the boiling vessel is used to supply the degassed liquid to the cleaning vessel to form a high-temperature zone on the cleaning bath, and that a circulation conduit is provided to supply the cleaning liquid from the high-temperature zone to the bottom of the cleaning vessel. The improved structure permits the creation of a high-temperature zone and a low-temperature or cleaning zone in one cleaning vessel, thereby preventing the dissolution of surrounding gases into the cleaning liquid, and at the same time, subjecting objects to ultrasonic-cleaning at a controlled temperature which is appropriate for ultrasonic cleaning, thereby improving the cleaning effect, and hence the cleaning efficiency.
