    Abstract: An improved tile is prevented from coming off mortar applied to the back of the tile. Anchors are engaged in dovetail grooves formed in the back of the tile. Also, an arrangement for setting tiles can prevent the tiles from coming off mortar. Hooks secured to the back of each tile are secured to horizontal beams mounted on the surface to be tiled.
