    Abstract: A sole includes a midsole and an outsole. The midsole includes a midsole body and a plate. The plate includes an MP portion through hole and a rear edge having a shape extending gradually frontward in the foot length direction, toward a medial foot side. The midsole body includes a reinforced region overlapping the plate in the thickness direction and being reinforced by the plate, and a non-overlapping region that is formed to be located adjacent to at least one of a medial foot side and a lateral foot side of the reinforced region in the foot width direction, and does not overlap the plate in the thickness direction.

    Abstract: A shoe sole includes: a sole body located to extend continuously from a forefoot portion to a rearfoot portion; and a highly rigid member fixed to the sole body, the highly rigid member being formed of a material that is higher in rigidity than a material forming the sole body. The highly rigid member includes a curved plate portion extending in a direction crossing a right-left direction corresponding to a foot width direction of a foot of a wearer. The curved plate portion has an inverted arch shaped portion that protrudes toward a ground contact surface of the shoe sole in a cross section taken along a line orthogonal to a direction in which the curved plate portion extends. At least a part of the curved plate portion is disposed in the forefoot portion.

In the part having hydrophillic property, precipitation of ZnO can be controlled sufficiently because of its large persistency of hydrophilic property so that dendrite short-circuiting in the battery can be prevented satisfactorily. In the part having water repellent property, O.sub.2 gas is permeable well through it so that a decrease in capacity of battery can be avoided.

    Abstract: A method for forming a nickel plate or a method for making up an alkaline battery, in such a way that cobalt oxyhydroxide is previously formed on surfaces of positive active material powder and used therefor, by mixing the positive active material powder with CoO powder, for example, to be oxidized, by oxidizing the positive active material powder in a solution including cobalt ions, or by mixing the positive active material powder with cobalt oxyhydroxide powder. A conductive network comprising the cobalt oxyhydroxide is formed, so that conductive efficiencies between the positive active materials and the positive active material and the substrate are made better.
