  • Patent number: 7605836
Abstract: An image forming apparatus forms a latent image on a photoconductive member by scanning a light beam with a rotational deflector, and forms a visual image on a sheet without temporarily stopping the sheet on a sheet conveyance path. The image forming apparatus includes a motor that drives the rotation deflector when an image formation instruction is given, a rotation status-determining device that determines if the motor driven the rotation deflector reaches steady state, and a sheet feed control device that starts conveying the sheet (from a starting position of the sheet conveyance path) when the rotation status-determining device determines that the motor reaches the steady state. A detection device detects a passage time when the sheet passes a prescribed position on the sheet conveyance path. A latent image formation control device starts forming a latent image on the photoconductive member based on the passage time.

  • Publication number: 20040117389
Abstract: A file transfer system includes a file management server, a file transmitting terminal, and a file receiving terminal connected each other via a network. The file transmitting terminal transmits to the file management server a file and an authorization condition for accessing the file. The file management server stores the file and the authorization condition relating each other. The file receiving terminal transmits to the file management server a request for transferring the file. The file management server, in response to the request, determines whether the authorization condition is satisfied, and if the authorization condition is satisfied, transfers the file to the file receiving terminal. Accordingly, a user can safely receive the file via the network even if the user does not have an information apparatus having memory capacity large enough to receive the file.

  • Patent number: 6529696
Abstract: An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a thermal fixing unit and is capable of varying a sheet conveying speed. The sheet conveying speed is varied in accordance with a resolution selected. The target fixing temperature of the fixing unit is variable in accordance with the sheet conveying speed. Further, the stand-by temperature of the fixing unit after image formation is set in accordance with the resolution selected to thereby control a temperature. This successfully reduces the operator's waiting time and applies adequate heat to a sheet.

  • Patent number: 6400384
Abstract: An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a photoconductor by scanning light on the photoconductor includes a printer engine having a polygon motor that can be controlled to revolve at an arbitrary rate of revolution, a deflector driven by the polygon motor to be rotated to deflect the light, and a motor controller to control the revolution of the polygon motor. The apparatus further includes a controller to control the apparatus. The apparatus is connected with a host computer, and the polygon motor is controlled to stop revolving when the apparatus is in a waiting status. When the apparatus is set to form the image with a single picture element resolution, the controller outputs to the printer engine a request to revolve the polygon motor immediately after receiving a printing instruction to form the image from the host computer and a printing request to form the image after completing image processing for forming the image.

  • Patent number: 6336010
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a fixing mechanism, a power source, a sheet transfer mechanism, and a controller. The fixing mechanism includes a heater, and fixes a toner image on a recording sheet at a fixing position. The power source drives the heater. The sheet transfer mechanism transfers the recording sheet from a sheet cassette to an eject tray via the fixing position. The controller changes a sheet transfer speed upon varying an image resolution, instructs the power source to drive the heater to increase a temperature of the heater up to a goal temperature. Further, the controller sets the goal temperature to a predetermined degree when the sheet transfer speed is greater than a predetermined speed, and controls the temperature of the heater via the power source by varying the goal temperature in accordance with values of the sheet transfer speed when the sheet transfer speed is smaller than the predetermined speed.

  • Patent number: 5524175
Abstract: A general neuro-computer and system using it is capable of executing a plurality of learning algorithms, providing an instruction execution speed comparable with a hard wired system, and practically neglecting a time required for rewriting microprograms. The neuro-computer is constituted by a neuron array having a plurality of neurons, a control storage unit for storing microinstructions, a parameter register, a control logic, and a global memory. A host computer as a user interface inputs information necessary for the learning and execution of the neuro-computer to the system, the information including learning algorithms, neural network architecture, the number of learnings, the number of input patterns, input signals, and desired signals. The information inputted from the host computer is transferred via a SCSI to the neuro-computer to perform a desired neural network operation.
