  • Patent number: 5510901
Abstract: In a system for reading out an information signal stored in a memory and recording it on a recording medium, renewal of the address of the memory is performed in synchronism with the recording operation, thereby making it possible to record the information signal on the recording medium continuously despite intermittent performance of recording. The address of the memory is returned by a predetermined amount in synchronism with renewal of the address of the memory or the recording operation. Thereby it is also possible to assure good continuity of the recorded information signals. Further, the above-described processing is made easier by making the address of the memory controllable in units of track on the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 5355256
Abstract: A video signal reproducing apparatus for reproducing a video signal from a recording medium includes a rotary head arranged to periodically trace the recording medium and reproduce the recorded video signal, a memory arranged to receive the video signal reproduced by the rotary head, memory control circuitry for controlling writing into and reading from the memory, a rotation controller for controlling rotation of the rotary head; and mode setting circuitry for setting the apparatus into one of a plurality of modes including first and second still picture reproduction modes. In both modes, stored signals are repetitively read from the memory with reading address resetting occurring in the course thereof. In the first mode, which involves short term reproduction, the rotary head is caused to rotate and the resetting is dependent of detection of phase detection of the rotary head.

  • Patent number: 5315408
Abstract: An image singal generating apparatus of the invention is an apparatus for generating an image signal. Quantized data is formed by quantizing the input image signal. The formed quantized data is sequentially distributed and supplied to a plurality of holding means each of which can hold the quantized data of one picture image. The quantized data held in each of the plurality of holding means is selectively sequentially generated. The quantized image signal is formed on the basis of the generated quantized data. Thus, the superfine quantized image signal can be generated.

  • Patent number: 5315379
Abstract: A color signal processing device for processing a carrier chrominance signal is arranged to produce a first sampling signal by sampling the carrier chrominance signal according to a sampling clock signal synchronized with a reference phase of the carrier chrominance signal and a second sampling signal which is of a sampling phase opposite to that of the first sampling signal and to form baseband signals conforming to a color signal by using the first and second sampling signals. This arrangement enables the device to process the color signal without causing any signal deterioration that tends to result from DC fluctuations of the carrier chrominance signal.

The switch circuit selectively outputs the output of the first signal source or an output of the adding circuit. The control circuit is arranged to stop the supply of power to at least the subtracting circuit when the switch circuit is selectively outputting the output of the first signal source.
