  • Publication number: 20050094001
Abstract: An image input apparatus which includes a connection unit capable of connecting with a detachable storage medium; a storage unit that stores a program for controlling the image input apparatus; a bus communicably coupled with the storage unit and the connection unit; a container unit adapted to contain the detachable storage medium; a detecting unit adapted to detect when a cover on the container unit is open; and a control unit configured to use the bus to access the detachable storage medium or the storage unit. When the detecting unit detects that the cover is open, the image input apparatus disables access from the control unit to the storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20050047249
Abstract: In writing image data having a first size in a memory card (4), a DMA circuit (12) transfers the image data to a memory card controller (6) until the write of the image data having the first size is ended. The memory card controller (6) checks that the state of the memory card is a predetermined state every time the write of image data having a second size smaller than the first size in the memory card (4) is ended and outputs a transfer end interrupt request signal to a CPU (2) in accordance with the end of the write of the image data having the first size in the memory card.

  • Patent number: 6829008
Abstract: An object of this invention is to provide a solid-state image sensing apparatus capable of performing high-precision AF and AE without adding any camera mechanism or increasing power consumption. To achieve this object, at least S1 and S2 among photoelectric conversion cells output signals not for forming an image signal in a solid-state image sensing apparatus in which photoelectric conversion cells for converting an optical image formed by an optical system into an electrical signal are two-dimensionally laid out.

  • Patent number: 5991247
Abstract: In an optical information recording/reproducing apparatus which uses an actuator which can move a beam spot over the entire track area on a recording medium by supporting an objective lens for converging the beam spot on an optical disk by elastic members, the objective lens is located at the neutral position of the elastic members during a period other than the recording or reproduction operation of information, thereby reducing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 5802024
Abstract: An information recording/reproducing apparatus for effecting at least one of recording of information on and reproduction of information from a recording medium having a plurality of tracks, by using a light beam.

  • Patent number: 5771214
Abstract: In an optical information recording/reproducing apparatus capable of executing a first recording method for recording information on either one of a land portion and a groove portion of a recording medium and a second recording method for recording information on both of the land portion and the groove portion, the recording medium is irradiated with a light beam, and a tracking error signal and/or focusing error signal is generated from the reflected light upon irradiation of the light beam. The level of the error signal is compared with a reference level to detect a tracking error state and/or focusing error state. The reference level is adapted to be switched according to the first or second recording method.

  • Patent number: 5699330
Abstract: Input/output processing of information is controlled in a magnetooptical disc apparatus for recording and/or reproducing the information on a magnetooptical recording medium by irradiating a desired track of the recording medium with a light beam via an optical system. The servo control of the light beam such as tracking servo control, focusing servo control or the like is performed by causing interruption in the input/output processing control. When the apparatus activates, a parameter in the servo control is set on the basis of a reproduction signal amplitude of the information with a change in state of the servo control and a parameter in signal processing of the information is set in accordance with a reproduction signal amplitude of the information corresponding to the set parameter for the servo control.
