  • Patent number: 5209265
Abstract: A flow control device for feeding water flow at a constant flow volume regardless of the pressure. The device comprises a conduit body with a coupling end for coupling with a water supply pipe to receive water therefrom and a discharge end for discharging the water therethrough. The conduit body is formed in the coupling end with a concavity having a bottom wall recessed from the coupling end face and a peripheral inner wall. A passage extends through the conduit body to have its one end opened into the bottom wall and the other end leading to a discharge end. Received within the concavity is an elastic valve having a constricted aperture in fluid communication between the water supply pipe and the passage for feeding the water into the passage through the aperture from the water supply pipe.

  • Patent number: 5181488
Abstract: A fuel supply system for an outboard motor having a main fuel supply for supplying fuel to the engine and an enrichment fuel supply for supplying a different fuel for starting and cold running. The enrichment fuel supply supplies fuel to the engine through a common enrichment control housing assembly that includes an enrichment pump and an enrichment fuel flow control which are both operated simultaneously. In addition, the enrichment fuel source has a vent system including a vent valve that is operated simultaneously with the enrichment fuel valve and the enrichment pump.

  • Patent number: 5031590
Abstract: Several embodiments of charge forming systems for crankcase internal combustion engines each of which embodies a first charge forming device having a main fuel discharge that delivers a fuel/air mixture to the crankcase and a second charge forming device having an idle fuel discharge for delivering a fuel/air mixture to the transfer passage. The second charge forming device is provided with means for providing cold running enrichment. In addition, a priming fuel pump is adapted to supply priming fuel of a higher quality to the first charge forming device upstream of its venturi section. The two charge forming devices are each supplied with air from a common air inlet device that includes at least a air silencer. The communication of the second charge forming device with the air supply device is such so as to preclude the likelihood of fuel leakage if the engine is oriented in other than its normal condition.

  • Patent number: 4944046
Abstract: A cover sheet apparatus for a toilet seat comprising a case containing a stack of sheets of paper which are in engagement with each other at their mutually adjacent front and read ends and are always urged forwards by a spring. The case is attached to a rear portion of a toilet, and when a user pulls toward oneself a pull section of the foremost cover sheet of the stack, the sheet is taken out from the case in its original shape and size, and is laid, as it is, on a seat of the toilet. In conjunction with the pulling out of the foremost cover sheet, the next cover sheet adjacent thereto is pulled so that a pull section thereof peeps out at an outlet of the case to be ready for the next use. A cover plate can be provided on the case for covering the pull section of the foremost cover sheet at the outlet of the case, whereby the foremost cover sheet is prevented from being wetted with flushing water or urine.

  • Patent number: 4881370
Abstract: An improved exhaust system and bearing arrangement for a small displacement outboard motor that is rotatable through substantially 360 degrees for reverse operation. The drive shaft housing is formed with a reduced diameter cylindrical portion that is journaled within the swivel bracket by a bearing arrangement comprised of plastic elements and O-ring elements. The engine has an exhaust system with an exhaust pipe that at least in part encircles the drive shaft and which extends into the drive shaft housing below at least one the bearings to provide sufficient length for tuning and to avoid undue heating of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 4539163
Abstract: Several embodiments of charge forming devices embodying enrichment circuits that provide enrichment substantially only when the engine is running above its idle speed and below a predetermined slow speed so as to improve running without excessive fuel consumption under high speed conditions. In each embodiment, the enrichment circuit includes a port in the induction passage upstream of the idle position of the throttle valve and which is served by a fuel well. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, the discharge of the enrichment circuit is controlled by a throttle valve position responsive valve. In this embodiment, the throttle valve position responsive valve may comprise the pumping element of the accelerating pump. In other embodiments of the invention, the discharge of the enrichment circuit is controlled by providing restricted communication between the fuel source and the enrichment fuel well.

  • Patent number: 4440697
Abstract: A multi-fuel carburetor embodying a number of improved accelerating pump features. In accordance with one of these features, the accelerating pump discharge is located upstream of the venturi section and is directed in such a way that the depositing of fuel on the throttle valve is minimized and improved distribution to the associated manifold is achieved. In accordance with another feature, the accelerating pump is operated by a linkage which causes the accelerating to begin its discharge stroke before the throttle valve is opened. As another feature, the output of the accelerating pump may be conveniently varied by using a variable bypass in the accelerating pump discharge circuit. As yet another feature, the back or non-pumping side of the accelerating pump is vented to a fuel bowl so as to minimize leakage and to insure return of any fuel that leak passed the accelerating pump to the fuel bowl.

  • Patent number: 4414929
Abstract: Two embodiments of lubricating systems for two-cycle internal combustion engines wherein a fuel/lubricant mixture is provided from a carburetor directly to certain components of the engine to be lubricated such as the rod bearings. This separate lubricant passage receives a fuel/lubricant/air mixture and is independent of the main intake passage of the engine. In one embodiment, a separate fuel/lubricant inlet extends into the carburetor downstream of the main induction nozzle. In the other embodiment, this separate lubricant passage has its own induction passage and own fuel/lubricant discharge nozzle.
