  • Patent number: 10680670
Abstract: In a receiving apparatus configured to receive a plurality of broadcasts, a disturbing signal is attenuated. The receiving apparatus includes a first filter, a second filter, a detector, and a selector. The first filter allows a received signal to pass in a first passband. The second filter allows a received signal to pass in a second passband having a band partly overlapping with that of the first passband. The detector detects a disturbing signal included in the received signal passed through one of the first filter or the second filter. The selector selects one of the first filter or the second filter according to a signal level of the detected disturbing signal. The signal processing section performs processing on the received signal passed through the selected filter.

  • Patent number: 9281988
Abstract: A receiving device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure receives a signal in which a data symbol and invalidation data are arranged. The receiving device includes an amplifying unit that amplifies the input signal and a gain adjusting unit that adjusts gain of the amplifying unit in a section of the invalidation data. The present disclosure can be applied to a receiving device that receives a radio signal of an OFDM system.

  • Patent number: 9203421
Abstract: To enable processing of a signal at an appropriate level. An analog section in which an acquired signal is processed in an analog fashion and a digital section in which the signal processed in the analog section is digitally processed are included, wherein the analog section includes an adjustment unit that adjusts a gain discretely and the digital section includes a digital step compensation unit that compensates for discrete gain adjustments in the analog section. The digital step compensation unit responds to a transient step in which a gain steeply converts in the analog section and compensates with inverse characteristics of a transient response. The present technology can be applied to an AGC (Automatic Gain Control) system.

  • Patent number: 8884795
Abstract: A reception device and corresponding method for maintaining a high dynamic range of an AD converter circuit and preventing excessive input to the AD converter circuit is disclosed. For example, a reception device includes a variable gain amplifier circuit that amplifies an input analog signal with a gain controlled by a predetermined control signal, an analog-to-digital converter circuit an overload detector circuit with the same frequency characteristic as the analog-to-digital converter circuit. The overload detector circuit outputs a signal according to a comparison between a level of a signal input to the analog-to-digital converter circuit and a predetermined threshold. The signal that lowers the gain of the variable gain amplifier circuit more greatly is selected out of the signal from the overload detector circuit and another signal, and the gain of the variable gain amplifier circuit is controlled on the basis of the selected signal.
