  • Patent number: 6021303
Abstract: An image heating device comprises a cylindrical heating roller with a Curie temperature of 210.degree. C., a magnetization coil for magnetizing the heating roller with an alternating magnetic field, which is arranged inside the heating roller, and a nip portion for heating a recording material that carries a toner image with heat from the heating roller, while the recording material is being conveyed along said nip portion. The ratio between the amount of heat generated in said heat-generating member at Curie temperature or higher to the amount of heat generated at room temperature in said heat-generating member is not more than 1/2. With this configuration, the heating roller can regulate its own temperature to stabilize at a temperature that is suitable for fixing, and the problems of partial overheating or underheating, unstable heat generation, or damage of the device can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5495322
Abstract: An electrophotographic developing apparatus includes a photoreceptor drum supported for rotation in one direction, a rotatably supported developing roller disposed in face-to-face relation with the photoreceptor drum for supplying a single-component developing material, a rotatably supported charge transfer roller disposed on one side of the developing roll remote from the photoreceptor drum and in face-to-face relation with the developing roller for delivering the developing material onto the developing roller, a charged layer regulating member disposed around the charge transfer roller and cooperable with the charge transfer roller to regulate a charging and a layer of the developing material, and a developing hopper for accommodating the developing material to be supplied to the charge transfer member. In operation, the developing material within the hopper is carried by the charge transfer roller in the form of a charged toner layer which is subsequently delivered onto the developing roller.

  • Patent number: 4816921
Abstract: The present invention provides a document reading apparatus having a document placing plate and a transparent flat plate which hold a document with a surface to be read directed upward, a sensor unit for reading image information of an image on the document surface to be read through the transparent flat plate, a drive mechanism for driving the sensor unit in a direction parallel with the flat plate, and a position entering unit for indicating an arbitrary position on the document surface to be read by a visible light through the transparent flat plate and for detecting the position in association with a transparent tablet. Image reading and position entry can be made with a document held in the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4696562
Abstract: A multifunctional copying machine which has a copier function and/or a laser printer function has a copying unit for forming on the surface of a photosensitive body an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an image on a document placed on a document table, developing the latent image, and transferring the developed image onto a transfer sheet, and further has a laser scanning unit for producing a laser beam for scanning the surface of the photosensitive body. The laser scanning unit is detachably attached to the exterior of the copying unit, and the laser beam is guided through a space below the document table.

  • Patent number: 4472072
Abstract: A printing apparatus having a plurality of printing wires or hammers. The printing apparatus has a main drive driven continuously at a resonance frequency so as to supply energy to the plurality of printing wires or hammers, a plurality of selective drives corresponding to the plurality of printing wires or hammers, selectively energized by printing signals so as to transmit the driving energy to the printing wires or hammers. The printer head assembly can be extremely small sized and operate with low energy.

  • Patent number: 4381500
Abstract: A keyboard apparatus has item keys for data entry, and select keys for changing the display of input data written on sheets, according to the item keys, and a changer for the sheets stored in a cartridge, which separates the sheets in the cartridge into two groups, the sheets from one group being moved in the cartridge to a display position and the sheets from the other group being held in a non-display position. A cartridge holds the sheet to be displayed on the top of the stack of sheets remaining in the cartridge and a translator moves the sheets in the cartridge horizontally to the display position.

  • Patent number: 4260120
Abstract: A tape driving apparatus has an intermediate wheel non-coaxial with a pair of reel hubs and a capstan, and plural idle gears for selectively transmitting the rotating motion to said reel hubs, which are mounted to turn around the intermediate wheel, and a control member for controlling the movement of the idle gears in the required direction. Thereby, the reel hubs are driven and controlled to rotate fast or slow corresponding to the relative movement of the intermediate wheel and the plural idle gears, independently of the rotating motion of the fly-wheel.

  • Patent number: 4196875
Abstract: A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus having two electric motors, one of which is a capstan driving motor and the other is a reel driving motor. A tape drive capstan is directly driven by the said capstan driving motor without any belts, and transports magnetic tape at a constant velocity by coaction with a pinch roller during recording or reproducing of the magnetic tape. The apparatus has two tape winding reels, and the magnetic tape is wound up by either of the two tape winding reels according to the direction in which the magnetic tape is required to be transported. Each of the two tape winding reels is respectively rotated through idle wheels by the reel driving motor, which is separate from the two tape winding reels, without any slippage at the tape winding reels during recording or reproducing.
