  • Patent number: 4741641
Abstract: A pair of pulleys are rotatably provided between a pair of long frames in the neighborhood of both ends thereof. An endless belt is put over the pulleys, wherein the teeth which mesh with the pulleys are provided on the inner surface of the endless belt. A row of pins which fit into the perforations in a document is provided in the outer feeding surface of the endless belt. A groove extending in the longitudinal direction of the belt is formed in the central portion of the teeth trains of the belt. A rib projecting from the upper surface on which the belt slides and extending in the feeding direction of the document is formed in one of the frames. Since the belt moves in a state in which the rib is fitted into the groove of the belt, the belt runs without deviating from the line which connects between the pulleys.

  • Patent number: 4607967
Abstract: A printing apparatus having a platen for supporting a sheet of paper, comprising: a carriage movable along the length of the platen, and including an upward protrusion having a top surface which includes a first slant part inclined downwardly in a direction toward the platen; a print head including a mounting portion resting on the upward protrusion, the mounting portion having a bottom surface which includes a second slant part in abutting contact with the first slant part; and a fixing device for clamping the mounting portion of the print head to the upward projection of the carriage substantially in a direction of height of the upward protrusion. An angle of inclination of the first and second slant parts being selected such that a clamping action of the fixing device produces a component force sufficient to force a portion of the print head against a side surface of the protrusion on its side opposite to the side facing the platen.

  • Patent number: 4572418
Abstract: A print paper feeding apparatus wherein a discrete print paper is fed by cooperative action of a platen and rollers, while a continuous print paper is fed by cooperative action of a platen and a pin tractor. The print paper feeding apparatus further comprises a gear transmitting mechanism disposed between a paper feed motor and the platen; an actuating lever pivotally supporting, at one end thereof, an idle gear engaged with a pin tractor driving gear, the actuating lever being movable between an engaged position wherein the idle gear engages a gear of the gear transmitting mechanism, and a disengaged position wherein such engagement is released; a switching lever connected at one end thereof to the other end of the actuating lever and supported switchably between the engaged and disengaged positions, the switching lever having an operating portion formed at the other end thereof; and a biasing member for urging and holding the actuating lever to and in the engaged disengaged positions.

  • Patent number: 4518271
Abstract: A printer having a carriage with a printing head mounted thereon which is moved in a printing region for performing printing operation. The printer comprises a paper holding device having a plurality of pressure rollers and being rotatably supported between a closed position wherein the pressure rollers abut on a platen, and an open position wherein the abutting of the rollers against the platen is released, an urging member to urge the paper holding device at least towards the closed position, and an actuating means being operated while the carriage is moved to one side out of the printing region and moving the paper holding device from the closed position to the open position.
