  • Publication number: 20070115779
Abstract: It is supposed that recording of a drama program is started in accordance with recording reservation, and the recording is finished. If a program to be recorded next is a sports program, a message “Exchange the loaded disk with an optical disk for recording sports programs” is displayed on the display portion. When viewing this display, the user takes out the loaded optical disk for recording drama programs and loads an optical disk for recording sports programs to the device. When the recording of the sports program is finished and if a program to be recorded next is a language education program, a message “Exchange the loaded disk with an optical disk for recording language education programs” is displayed on the display portion. When viewing this display, the user takes out the loaded optical disk for recording sports programs and loads an optical disk for recording language education programs to the device.

  • Patent number: 7170524
Abstract: In an original image, an area whose brightness is smaller than a predetermined value is detected as an ink line area, and a neighboring area of the ink line area, which surrounds the ink line area, is detected as a neighboring area. Furthermore, with respect to an area other than the ink line area and the neighboring area in the original image, an outline portion of an image is detected as an outline area. A color is applied to the ink line area and the outline area, and a different color is applied to an area other than the above two types of area.

  • Publication number: 20060093329
Abstract: When instructed by an input part 18 to perform CM skip, which is to skip CMs during a playback, based on mode change recording positions (addresses) recorded in a RAM 14b, a controller 14 confirms whether there is any recording position corresponding to a mode change in a 3-minute section, i.e., a normal air time of airing CMs since the recording position at which CM skip has been instructed, but when finding a recording position corresponding to a mode change, skips CMs up to this recording position. Meanwhile, when instructed for time/picture search during a playback, based on reference time point recording positions (addresses) recorded in the RAM 14b, the controller 14 skips to the closest reference time point recording position to the recording position at which time/picture search has been instructed and continues a normal playback operation.

  • Publication number: 20060002261
Abstract: When a reproduction operation of data recorded on a recording medium is stopped, a stop position of the reproduction operation on the recording medium is obtained and stored in a position storage unit. Thereafter, when an input instructing resume reproduction is received, a time period elapsed from the time of stop of the reproduction is calculated. A resume position of the reproduction operation is determined with reference to the stop position stored in the position storage unit, based on the calculated time period.

  • Publication number: 20050259528
Abstract: A seek control unit increments by a first magnitude the maximum speed when the pickup head is moved while the number of jumped tracks can be counted appropriately. If the number of tracks jumped during seek could not be counted appropriately, the seek control unit decrements the maximum speed by a second magnitude. The seek control unit sets the maximum speed stored in a speed information storage device 8 for a marginal speed. Once set for the marginal speed, the seek control unit, even when the number of jumped tracks can be counted appropriately, does not execute updating of incrementing the maximum speed stored in the speed information storage unit.

  • Patent number: 6622110
Abstract: A rotation direction detecting apparatus including: a turntable 4 mounted on a rotary shaft 3 of a motor 2 and provided with a predetermined signal pattern, the predetermined signal pattern being formed so that reflection of light and non-reflection of light are repeated alternately and continuously by rotation of the motor 2; a photo-detector 5 for detecting the signal pattern of the turntable 4; and a micro-computer 7. The signal pattern is set as a pattern in which high-level regions and low-level regions are repeated alternately at a 2:1:1:2 ratio. The micro-computer 7 judges that the motor 2 is rotating in a direction of normal rotation when leading edges of the signal pattern detected by the photo-detector 5 are arranged at regular intervals, and judges that the motor 2 is rotating in a direction of reverse rotation when leading edges of the signal pattern detected by the photo-detector 5 are arranged at irregular intervals.

  • Patent number: 6252837
Abstract: An error compensation device for a disk signal reproduction apparatus that reads out data from a disk on which the data is recorded along a spiral track, such as a CD, and reproduces a signal. The error compensation device includes a data read unit which reads out data from a disk, a signal memory unit which stores output data of the read unit, a servo control unit which controls the read unit, a microcomputer which controls the servo control unit and the signal memory unit, a storage unit for microcomputer control which controls the control microcomputer, a D/A conversion unit which coverts the output of the signal memory unit, and a signal mute unit which is controlled by the microcomputer. When there is a region from which disk data cannot be reproduced, the storage unit for microcomputer control stores the region as an error region. Signals stored in the signal memory unit are sequentially read out at a reference speed to reproduce the signals.
