    Abstract: A radio base station (200) transmits TPC bits (+1) or TPC bits (?1) to a mobile station at predetermined time intervals in order to approximate the reception quality of a radio signal to a target reception SIR, said TPC bit (+1) increasing the transmission power of the radio signal just by a given step, and said TPC bit (?1) decreasing the transmission power of the radio signal just by a given step.
