  • Patent number: 5146772
Abstract: A vehicle door lock device has a synthetic resin made body and a back plate attached on the rear side of the body. A lock lever is journalled between the back plate and the body in order to change-over the lock device between its locked condition and unlocked condition. A plastic made actuator box containing a power source for powerfully changing-over the lock lever is placed below the body. A switch box is formed at a rear side of the box and a switch body is contained in the switch box. A rotation shaft of the switch body protrudes rearward through the switch box and a switch arm is secured to the protruded portion of the rotation shaft. At the overlap position of the connecting lever and the lock lever, the connecting lever is installed rotatably, one end of the lever being connected to the switch arm and another end of it being connected to the key cylinder of a door or the lock lever.

  • Patent number: 5079964
Abstract: The actuator for a door locking apparatus for a vehicle has an output shaft rotatably mounted on the body thereof, a cylindrical worm designed to be rotated by a motor, and a shaft tube having an internal toothed portion that is brought into mesh engagement with the cylindrical worm and designed to move between locked and unlocked positions along the axial direction of the worm when the worm is rotated. An elongate hole is formed in the arm fixed to the output shaft, and the pin of the shaft tube is brought into engagement with this elongate hole. A projection is provided on the shaft tube at such a position as to be closer to the output shaft than the pin is. The actuator has a torsion spring for returning the shaft tube from the locked or the unlocked position to a neutral position as an intermediate position between the two positions when the motor is switched off.

  • Patent number: 5064229
Abstract: The lock device for a vehicle in accordance with the present invention comprises a synthetic resin body fixed to a door and equipped with a recess formed on its right side; a latch fitted rotatably into the recess; a striker fixed to a car body and having a front leg portion having a small diameter and meshing with the latch, a rear side leg portion having a large diameter and a wedge-like bridge portion connecting the tips of the leg portions and having a thin front portion and a thick rear portion; a guide groove formed on the body and permitting the entrance of the striker; front side clamp means disposed on the front side of the guide groove, for clamping the front side of the striker; and rear side clamp means disposed on the rear side of the guide groove, for clamping the rear side portion of the striker. A swell portion defining the guide groove is formed integrally on the back side of the body and a metallic back plate is fixed to this back side.

  • Patent number: 5050917
Abstract: A striker used in a lock device of a vehicle door has a U-shaped rod provided with an outside leg, an inside leg extending in parallel with the outside leg, and a connecting portion joining the ends of both legs. In order to strengthen the striker, the sectional area of the inside leg is larger than the outside leg, and the connecting portion has a wedge shape the thick portion thereof being placed at the inside portion. Thus, strength of the connecting portion to the inside leg is made larger than that of another connecting portion to the outside leg.

  • Patent number: 4971373
Abstract: A noise suppressing device in a lock device for a vehicle, including a body to be fixed to a door of the vehicle; a latch rotatably supported in the body and adapted to be rotated by engagement with a striker fixed to a vehicle body; a ratchet rotatably supported in the body and adapted to engage a full-latch stepped portion of the latch and thereby prevent reverse rotation of the latch; first and second spring members for biasing the ratchet to engage the same with the latch; and an open lever for releasing engagement of the ratchet with the full-latch stepped portion; wherein the first spring member normally biases the ratchet to engage the same with the latch, and the second spring member does not bias the ratchet under a full-latch condition where the ratchet is engaged with the full-latch stepped portion of the latch, while when the ratchet is rotated in a releasing direction, the second spring member biases the ratchet.

  • Patent number: 4914395
Abstract: A pinhole detecting apparatus includes a first electrode which may be a needle electrode or a brush electrode. The first electrode is positioned to be closed to or brought into contact with a member to be detected such as an insulation sheet which seals food, a closed container which contains medicine, or the like. Such a member to be detected is put on a second electrode which may be a conveyer made of electrically conductive material. When a high voltage is applied between the first and second electrodes, if a pinhole was formed on the member to be detected, a discharge current flows between the first and second electrodes through the pinhole, whereby the pinhole can be detected through detection of such a discharge current. A portion of the member to be detected below the first electrode is cooled by an air stream or other coolant when the high voltage is applied to the first and second electrodes, whereby the portion of the member to be detected is prevented from being thermally destroyed.

  • Patent number: 4358141
Abstract: Noise prevention devices in an automobile door locking apparatus, which include a resilient cover mounted to a latch, a spiral torsion spring mounted to a shaft of said latch, and other resilient means. Said cover lessens striking noise between said latch and an automobile door striker and also between said latch and a ratchet for locking the former, and also acts to lessen rubbing noise between said latch and a cover plate of the apparatus housing. Said torsion spring cushions also, in addition to biasing the latch, to prevent the rattling of said latch.

  • Patent number: 4073519
Abstract: In a door latch system having a metal latching member engageable with a metal striker, a noise suppressor of resilient material is dovetail jointed to the latching member, in such a position thereon that the striker makes noiseless contact therewith upon closure of the door. The latch further comprises a stop of resilient material arranged for contact with the striker in a fully latched position, and a guide of relatively rigid, wear-resistant material extending along a striker guideway in the main body of the latch.
