  • Publication number: 20180357342
Abstract: A state prediction device includes a hardware processor. The hardware processor simulates an information processing apparatus in operation with a virtual device, increases a load on a virtual device to a load larger than a load on the information processing apparatus by causing a virtual device to process a data piece. The data piece is generated with a larger data amount than that of a second data piece received externally by the information processing apparatus. The hardware processor also determines whether an allowing condition, preset in the information processing apparatus, is unsatisfied by an operation state of the virtual device while the increased load is applied.

  • Patent number: 8830518
Abstract: An image data management apparatus which provides a pull-print mark for a file which is expected to be printed at an externally connected image forming apparatus, that is, to be subjected to pull-printing. It is possible to provide the pull-print mark for a plural number of files. When a user commands pull-printing of such a file at an externally connected image forming apparatus, a search is made within the files provided with the pull-print mark. Thereby, the load on the image data management apparatus for searching the file is light. In order to permit a user to command pull-printing at a printer with a simple user interface, simple authentication codes may be used.

  • Patent number: 8037513
Abstract: When a new MFP is connected in a state where a plurality of MFPs are connected to a network, each of a plurality of MFPs obtains an IP address of MPF from the new MFP, and if user data including the obtained IP address is stored, then transmits to the new MFP the registered user information associated with the obtained IP address by the user data. On the other hand, if user data including the obtained IP address is not stored in HDD, the new MFP is requested to transmit registered user information. Upon reception of the registered user information, the new MFP displays a confirmation window to ask the user for permission to write that registered user information into HDD. Upon reception of the request, the new MFP transmits registered user information. This facilitates the setting for newly connecting an apparatus to the network.
