  • Patent number: 10149059
Abstract: A speaker device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a magnetic circuit having a magnetic gap, a ribbon-like diaphragm disposed in a magnetic field in the magnetic gap, a plurality of parallel conductors provided on the diaphragm and extending in a direction orthogonal to a direction of the magnetic field, and a driving unit that supplies driving currents in the same direction to the plurality of parallel conductors. Both end portions of the diaphragm are continuous via a pivoting board disposed so as to bypass the magnetic gap, and connection conductors for spirally connecting the plurality of parallel conductors are provided on the pivoting board.

  • Patent number: 10034090
Abstract: A first fixed filter extracts high-frequency and low-frequency sound signals outside the audible band, and a level integrator integrates levels of the sound signals to obtain a first integrated value. With a second fixed filter, the level integrator integrates levels of sound signals in a low frequency band within the audible band to obtain a second integrated value. A control unit determines whether the high-frequency sound signals are dominant by comparing the first integrated value with the second integrated value. When the high-frequency sound signals are dominant, the control unit attenuates high-frequency speaker drive signals using a variable filter.

  • Publication number: 20070128163
Abstract: The use of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) virions for delivery of genes encoding angiogenic factors to muscle tissue is disclosed. The invention describes such methods of delivery and also describes methods for treating an ischemic condition such as myocardial ischemia. The methods include direct delivery of rAAV virions to a muscle via intramuscular injection and indirect delivery to a muscle via an injection into a blood vessel supplying blood to the muscle. The invention provides for sustained expression of the rAAV virion-delivered angiogenic factor gene or genes, which subsequently leads to a quantifiable therapeutic effect, namely an increase in new blood vessel formation resulting in an increase in blood flow to the ischemic muscle tissue.

  • Patent number: 5163256
Abstract: An elasto-plastic damper to protect a building from destructive impact of seismic tremors and/or high winds. The damper is a cylindrical shaft with a constricted waist portion adapted to yield uniformly throughout its length to an external force from any direction in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the waist portion. This elasto-plastic deformation of the damper dissipates the energy of seismic and/or wind impact throughout its range of elastic deformation. The ends of the damper are threaded to facilitate threaded fastener engagement with structural and non-structural members of building.
