  • Patent number: 5727885
Abstract: A positioning lug 13 is formed which curvedly expands outwardly along the circumference of a half-circular bearing body 11 from the external surface of the bearing body. The positioning lug 13 is provided so that both transition sections thereof are integrated at a circumferential ends 12 with the bearing body 11. Unlike a conventional sliding bearing half shell provided with a tongue-like positioning lug protruding from a proximal end line 14, with transition sections separated from the bearing body, the sliding bearing half shell according to the present invention does not undergo the failure of its positioning lug due to the fatigue of the proximal end line 14 caused by cyclic bending stress.

  • Patent number: 5671835
Abstract: A wet friction member which can maintain boundary lubrication by decreasing the thickness of oil film on a friction surface even when the sliding velocity increases. In a case where the friction surface of the friction member is in pressure contact with a mated member while rotating in a state of boundary lubrications a shearing resistance owing to viscosity of cooling oil is circumferentially applied to cooling oil in outer grooves in the friction surface. Since outer grooves extend from starting position of intermediate portions of the friction surface and terminate at the outer peripheral edge in a volute shape toward the direction of rotation, cooling oil in the outer grooves flows along the groove walls and is quickly discharged from opening portions at the outer peripheral edge.

  • Patent number: 5434012
Abstract: A slide bearing which is preferably used in combination with a low-rigid aluminum alloy housing. The slide bearing has a high coefficient of thermal expansion so that it can satisfactorily follow up deformation of the housing, and the bearing also has an excellent heat radiation property. In the slide bearing, an overly bearing layer having a thickness of 3 to 50 .mu.m is provided on a copper alloy layer having a coefficient of thermal expansion of 15.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. or more, a coefficient of thermal conductivity of 0.40 cal/cm sec .degree.C. or more and 0.2% proof stress of 295N/mm.sup.2 or more. As occasion demands, the slide bearing may be (1) provided with an intermediate layer between the copper alloy layer and the overlay bearing layer, or (2) flash-plated on an entirety surface of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 5001683
Abstract: An inter-pulse time difference measuring circuit which expands the time difference between a first pulse and a second pulse by a given multiplication factor and measures the expanded time difference, thereby realizing a higher measuring resolution. The circuit can be constructed by using a capacitor charging and discharging circuit connected to a constant current source and such circuit can always expand the time difference by a given multiplication factor even if the voltages and resistance values of the other circuits than the constant current circuit are varied with temperature changes. The circuit can also be realized by a circuit which charges and discharges a capacitor through a pair of transistors having a given current ratio and such circuit can maintain the current ratio of the transistors constant without suffering the effect of temperature changes, thereby always ensuring expansion of the time difference between pulses by a given multiplication factor.

  • Patent number: 4930910
Abstract: A bearing arrangement including a plain bearing consisting of a laminated body of a bearing layer and a backing metal supporting the bearing layer. The backing metal is made of a material whose modulus of elasticity is lowered by cold working (austenitic stainless steel), and the bearing layer and the backing metal are joined to each other by cold rolling. Since a working proportion of the backing metal upon the above-mentioned cold rolling is small in the inside portion held in contact with the bearing layer but is large in the outside portion, the modulus of elasticity of the backing metal is different between the inside portion and the outside portion thereof, and the modulus of elasticity in the outside portion is smaller than the modulus of elasticity in the inside portion. Also, the hardness of the outside portion is higher than the hardness of the inside portion.

  • Patent number: 4658150
Abstract: Apparatus for effecting the impedance discrimination for use in an automobile comprises a plurality of switches (11-14) mounted on a steering wheel, and a plurality of first impedance elements (15-17) for providing a different impedance in response to the operation of each switch. A second impedance element (131) is coupled through a common slip-ring connection (8, 9) to the first impedance elements for feeding a current from a battery (1) to the first impedance elements (15-17) to generate a potential corresponding to the operation of one of the switches. A transistor (133) provides a horn activating signal when the potential reaches a predetermined value. A resistance network (141-144; 141-142, 150-154) derives a first value corresponding to the first potential and a second value corresponding to the battery potential.

  • Patent number: 4650020
Abstract: An automotive vehicle speed control system, in which steady speed drive control is effected. • Patent number: 4539642
Abstract: An automatic speed control system comprises a bistable device, a coincidence gate and a monitor circuit which monitors the speed control element of an engine and applies a first input signal to the coincidence gate if malfunction occurs in the speed control element. The coincidence gate provides a reset signal to the bistable device when it simultaneously receives a second input signal from a microprocessor. The microprocessor verifies the operating conditions of the bistable device before the system is switched to automatic mode and sets the bistable device into a condition for receiving the reset signal from the coincidence gate. During automatic control mode, the microprocessor constantly checks the bistable device if it turns to the reset condition while controlling the speed control element. Whenever the microprocessor detects a reset condition in the bistable device, it enables the speed control element to allow the engine to be controlled on manual mode.

  • Patent number: 4532432
Abstract: A control circuit system for an automobile comprises a plurality of command switches (including an electric horn switch) all provided on a steering wheel. A control circuit is provided to generate a control signal in response to each command signal from the switches, and a signal coupling element is provided to connect the switches and the control circuit through a single signal line conventionally used for the electric horn switch. Operation of the automobile horn is enabled through a normally-closed relay even when a power switch connecting the automobile battery and the control circuit is open, thereby eliminating continuous drain on the automobile battery by a dormant but powered control circuit.
