    Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide a gas turbine combustor which is able to effect stable combustion in a wide range of fuel flow rate. A burner 1 is provided with fuel nozzles 31 and 32. When a fuel flow rate is small, diffusion flame is formed with fuel supplied from the nozzle 31 with a ring-shaped flame stabilizer 11. Next, fuel is supplied from the nozzle 32 to mix with air, reach to the flame stabilizer 11 and be held by the diffusion flame already formed, whereby stable premixed flames are formed in the flame stabilizer 11 from a range of low fuel air ratio. Further, when flame is propagated from the burner 1 to the burner 2, a fuel air ratio at the outer periphery side of the burner 1 is locally raised by the fuel supplied from the nozzle 31, whereby the combustion stability can be raised in a wide range of fuel flow rate and propagation of flame to adjacent burners becomes easy.

    Abstract: A gas turbine combustor is provides with a stabilizer at a downstream side of a premixing device for premixing and supplying fuel and air into a combustion chamber. The stabilizer has a cylindrical part extending axially from an upstream end thereof to a downstream end and a stabilizing part at the downstream end of the cylindrical part for stabilizing a flame, and the stabilizer is mounted on an inside of the combustor by a plurality of members arranged annularly and secured to the inside of the combustor at their ends, each of the members having a part slidably inserted in an opening of the cylindrical part so as to restrict the stabilizer to move axially while allowing deformation of the stabilizer and another part supporting the upstream end of the cylindrical part so as to restrict radial movement of the stabilizer.

    Abstract: An apparatus for mixing gaseous fuel and air for combustion, particularly premixing-type combustion in a gas turbine, has a conduit providing a passage for flow of the air with a reverse bend defined by opposed first and second wall portions that bound respectively the outside and the inside of said reverse bend as seen in a longitudinal section. The reverse bend establishes a flow region of air having a velocity gradient extending transversely across the conduit from a high velocity zone adjacent the first side wall portion at the outside of the reverse bend to a low velocity zone. Injection means for the gaseous fuel injects the fuel from the first side wall portion into the high velocity zone with a velocity component transverse to the air flow and in a direction towards the low velocity zone. Rapid and uniform mixing is obtained.

    Abstract: A combustion apparatus comprises a combustor liner forming a combustion chamber, and a swirler for introducing a fuel gas into the combustion chamber in the form of a swirl. The combustor liner has an air film forming device provided on the wall thereof and capable of forming a film of cooling air on the inner peripheral wall of the combustor liner so as to protect the combustor liner from the hot combustion gas in the combustion chamber. The air film forming means is formed such that the flowing direction of the air forming the film becomes the same direction as the swirling direction of the combustion gas, so that the film of the cooling air is not broken by the hot combustion gas.

The at least one eddy generating device is arranged apart from a downstream end of the swirl member by a fixed sufficient distance so that the shape of the flame maintained by the eddy flow is prevented from moving toward the downstream end of the swirler member.
