  • Publication number: 20060103789
Abstract: In a display panel of an active matrix-type liquid crystal display device in an In-Plane Switching mode, a black matrix is formed on the surface of a transparent substrate of a color-filter substrate, the surface being at a side opposed to a TFT substrate. The black matrix is made of a laminated film for which a metal oxide film and a metal film have been alternately laminated in two layers or more. The black matrix has a thickness of 0.2 ?m or less and an OD value of 3 or more. Moreover, an electric-field shielding layer made of an ITO film connected to a common electrode is provided on a data line formed on the TFT substrate, via an insulating film. Furthermore, an impurity is doped in a liquid crystal layer so that resistance thereof becomes 1×1011 through 1×1013?·cm.

  • Patent number: 6906456
Abstract: For an organic EL panel, whereon partitions are used to separate pixels, transparent electrodes, a charge generation layer and a charge transfer layer are formed in the named order on a substrate. Then, when the charge transfer layer is electrified and the charge generation layer is selectively exposed, an electrostatic latent image having a predetermined pattern is formed on the charge transfer layer. Subsequently, to form the partitions, the electrostatic latent image is developed by using a developing agent and the developing agent is fixed. Following this, emission layers and opposing electrodes to the transparent electrodes are positioned between the thus obtained partitions.

  • Patent number: 6797414
Abstract: An organic EL (Electroluminescence) device includes a Li2O layer which is metallic oxide at an interface of a first cathode with an organic luminescent layer, and the Li2O layer has a concentration gradient in which a concentration becomes high at a side of the interface with the organic luminescent layer. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a high rectification ratio, to make a driving voltage low, and to make a luminescent efficiency high.

  • Patent number: 6794816
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing and organic EL panel wherein an organic light emitting material is laminated between a pair of opposing electrodes, at least one of which is transparent or semitransparent, a photosensitive body having a charge generating layer 3 and charge transfer layer 4 is formed on the transparent substrate 2 side, and a latent image is formed by charging and exposing this photosensitive body. Using a powder developer, the exposed portion or unexposed portion thereof is developed, and a separation wall composed of the charged powder developer is formed. Next, a light emitting layer, electron transporting layer, and cathode are uniformly deposited by in vacuo vapor deposition, and after vapor deposition, by removing the developer used in the separation wall by transfer, the laminate of the light emitting layer, electron transporting layer, and cathode is selectively removed therewith, light emitting pattern formation and cathode separation are performed, and pixels are formed.

  • Patent number: 6656519
Abstract: In a multicolor organic electroluminescent panel of the present invention, the organic luminescent layers are separated from each other between each adjacent pixels of different colors and the electron transport layer(s) has no gap between each adjacent pixels and is filled in each gap present between the organic luminescent layers. This organic electroluminescent panel can prevent the concentration or nonuniformity of the electric field so that short-circuiting or current leakage does not take place.

  • Patent number: 6611098
Abstract: A hermetic encapsulation package and a method of fabricating such package, wherein at least one organic electroluminescent (EL) element is formed on a support substrate. A sealing cap for accommodating the organic EL element is bonded to the support substrate with an ultraviolet curing resin to form a sealed space defined by the sealing cap and the support substrate. At least part of the sealing cap is formed of an elastic material of a Young's modulus of 70 GPa or less. The elastic portion of the sealing cap is reversibly deflected to provide a decrease or increase in the volume of the sealed space to reduce pressure changes inside the sealed space caused by changes in temperature, thereby alleviating problems of thermal shock.
