  • Patent number: 9767981
Abstract: This fluorescent display tube includes an anode and a plurality of filament-shaped cathodes both provided in an envelope, a support as one of a pair of support bodies which support the cathodes is electrically divided for each of the cathodes and at the time of driving, and a cathode driving IC gives pulse voltages to the cathodes at different timing. Since the voltages are applied to the arranged cathodes sequentially, current flowing through the cathode driving IC can be small as compared with a case where voltages are simultaneously applied to a plurality of cathodes. Heat generation of the cathode driving IC is suppressed, and costs required for the cathode driving IC are reduced.

  • Patent number: 5811920
Abstract: A fluorescent display tube having a structure in which only filament-shape cathodes corresponding to required display regions are selectively supplied with electric power and in which elongated cathode attaching plates are disposed apart from one another on an end of an anode substrate, a first support member is secured to the first cathode attaching plate disposed inwards when viewed in the lengthwise direction of the cathodes, while a second support member is secured to the second cathode attaching plate disposed outwardly. Each support member has a base portion secured to the cathode attaching plate, a securing portion for securing the cathode and a connection portion for connecting the base portion and the securing portion to each other. The plural cathodes are stretched to run parallel to one another. A connection portion of the inner support member is longer than a connection portion of an outer support member. The two support members secure the ends of the cathodes at the same positions.

  • Patent number: 4746783
Abstract: In a spot welder in which the electric charge stored in an electrolytic capacitor (1a) is discharged through a welding circuit 3 to perform a welding operation, in order to prevent the lowering of the welding performance due to the inversion in polarity of the voltage of the electrolytic capacitor (1a), its main circuit includes another electrolytic capacitor (1b) which is connected in series to a DC source (5) and shunted by a resistor (7) and which is substantially equal in capacitance to the aforementioned electrolytic capacitor (1a), and after the electrolytic capacitor (1a) only is charged, a switch (2) is turned on so that the charge current of the electrolytic capacitor (1a) is discharged to charge the electrolytic capacitor (1b), whereby charging the electrolytic capacitors (1a) and (1b) in opposite directions is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4281209
Abstract: A grounded hollow cylindrical housing filled with SF.sub.6 encircles coaxially a rod-shaped electric conductor through a plurality of spaced, electrically insulating spacers. With the housing disposed horizontally, two spaced, hollow frustoconical dielectric members are connected to the inner surface of the housing adjacent to either surface of each spacer to overlap the latter. With the housing disposed vertically, a disc-shaped dielectric member fixedly extends through the conductor to be adjacent and overlap each spacer. Further, an annular dielectric member may be connected to the inner surface of the housing between the disc-shaped dielectric member and the spacer. The dielectric member is preferably of a poly-tetrafluoroethylene.

  • Patent number: 4219862
Abstract: A stack of nonlinear resistors of sintered zinc oxide superposing one another is connected across a bottom of a grounded cylindrical housing and a high voltage conductor insulatingly supported by the housing. Within the housing a shielding conductor slantingly hangs from the connection of the stack and conductor. Alternatively, the shielding electrode may extend from the high voltage conductor to run along the longitudinal axis of the housing. A plurality of nonlinear resistors are divided in several stacks and serially interconnected between the shielding conductor and the inside of the housing to be radially outward inclined to the shielding electrode. Such stacks may be disposed close to the free end portion of the shielding electrode.
