  • Patent number: 5075904
Abstract: An improved helmet comprising a fiber reinforced thermosetting resin as a main component is disclosed. In the helmet, at least a part thereof to be subjected to shock adsorption property test defined by JIS T 8133 (1982) is reinforced with a cloth of polyethylene fiber having high tenacity and high modulus such as that having tensile strength of not less than 20 g/denier and tensile modulus of not less than 500 g/denier.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 1, 1990
Date of Patent: December 31, 1991
Assignees: Toyo Boseki Kabushiki Kaisha, Shoei Kakou Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventors: Yoshikazu Shirasaki, Ichiro Yoshida
  • Patent number: 5031720
Abstract: A speaker diaphragm is formed by heat-pressurized molding a composite structure of fabric cloth and resin sank into the fabric cloth. The fabric cloth is woven from high strength and high elasticity polyethylene fiber which has at least tensile modulus of 4,500 kg/mm.sup.2 (500 g/d).
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4983433
Abstract: A reinforcement for a fiber reinforced plastic which is a mixed-woven or knitted fabric of two kinds of filaments is disclosed. One kind of filament thereof is an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene filament having tensile strength of not less than 20 g/denier and tensile modulus of not less than 500 g/denier and the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene filament material occupies 60 to 90% of the total surface area of said fabric. The filament other than the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene filament occupies 60 to 90% of the total back surface area of the fabric.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 26, 1989
Date of Patent: January 8, 1991
    Assignee: Toyo Boseki Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventor: Yoshikazu Shirasaki
  • Patent number: 4929503
Abstract: A composite fibrous material which comprises 50 to 95% by weight of (A) polyethylene fibers having high tenacity and tensile modulus and 5 to 50% by weight of (B) all aromatic polyamide fibers and/or (C) all aromatic polyester fibers, which has improved creep resistance and low shrinkage.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 18, 1986
