  • Publication number: 20200411450
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for making a thin film device and/or for reducing warp in a thin film device, the methods comprising applying at least one metal film to a convex surface of a glass substrate, wherein the glass substrate is substantially dome-shaped. Other methods disclosed include methods of determining the concavity of a glass sheet. The method includes determining the orientation of the concavity and measuring a magnitude of the edge lift of the sheet when the sheet is supported by a flat surface and acted upon by gravity. Thin film devices made according to these methods and display devices comprising such thin film devices are also disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 5748024
Abstract: A level convertor is provided between circuits, which act with different power supply voltages, respectively, and converts a first voltage level of an output of a circuit to a second voltage level, which corresponds to an operational voltage level of another circuit. The level convertor comprises a level shift circuit, which receives the first voltage level and outputs an output of the second voltage level, and a buffer circuit, which receives the output of the second level and a control signal, and fixes the output of the second voltage level to a low logic level, when the control signal is a low logic level. The control signal may be used to set a timing for registering the data to a register, avoiding data in an instable state when power is supplied, from being registered to the register.

  • Patent number: 5433999
Abstract: In a magnetic recording medium with a back coat layer including polyurethane having a Tg (glass-transition temperature) below room temperature, isocyanate hardener, carbon powder and inorganic abrasive pigment are formed on a face of a non-magnetic substrate opposite a face covered by a magnetic recording film. Using this back coat layer, improved post contact characteristics and the like are obtained and smooth running conditions under small tensions are realized. Further, the magnetic recording medium causes only a small amount of head wear, and the medium has improved wear resistance.

  • Patent number: 5202149
Abstract: In the method for making the magnetic recording wherein a first magnetic layer is formed on a substrate and a second magnetic layer is formed on the first magnetic layer, before forming the second magnetic layer, accelerated ions are irradiated onto a surface of the first magnetic layer. Thereby, naturally formed oxidized layer and adhered impurity on the first magnetic layer are removed from the surface of the first magnetic layer by ion etching action by the irradiation of ions, and hence a preferable condition of an interface between the first magnetic layer and subsequently formed second magnetic layer is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5079061
Abstract: The optical storage medium of the present invention comprises: (1) a substrate; (2) ultra-thin recording layers containing a dye; and (3) controlling layers. The recording layers and the controlling layers are accumulated alternately, and the uppermost layer is a controlling layer. The optical storage medium of the present invention contains dye cohesions in the recording layer in an extremely small amount and of extremely small size so that the medium can store a high density of records.

  • Patent number: 4557850
Abstract: A composition for absorption refrigeration which comprises a fluorinated hydrocarbon refrigerant, an amide or glycol ether solvent serving as an absorption liquid, and a phosphite stabilizer. The stabilizer is used in an amount of 0.05 to 0.5 wt % of the absorption liquid calculated as phosphorus, within which range the phosphite stabilizer can suitably protect the refrigerant and the absorption liquid from deteriorating and decomposing at high operation temperatures.
