Abstract: In a card image data processing system wherein a plurality of card images are recognized as one box (2, 2'), the card images are defined by form data common to the box and card data written in fields is defined by field definition information which is of the form data, and the fields are designated for processing contents of the fields, i.e., card data; the card images, including the form data, is displayed in a first window (41, 42) of the display unit, fields of the displayed card images are designated and processing instructions for the card data prepared, and the processing instructions are displayed in an instruction window (43) of the display unit and registered in the instruction code buffer. Processing of the card data of the card images is executed based on the registered processing instructions.

Abstract: A method for controlling a plurality of windows for displaying card images wherein the card images are arranged lengthwise on a display unit. In the case where there is a window above an active window, there is a cursor displayed in the active window, the cursor is moved up and a down-scrolling operation is performed upon the active window until the first row of a card image reaches the row immediately above the boundary row between the windows. If the cursor is moved further up, the boundary row is moved up. Similarly, in the case where there is a window below an active window, the cursor is moved down and an up-scrolling operation is performed upon the active window until the bottom row of a card image reaches a row immediately below the boundary row. If the cursor is further moved down, the boundary row is moved down.

Abstract: In a method for obtaining common mode information and common field attribute information for a plurality of card images belonging to a "box" in a data processing system, fixed information and field indicating information are written into a mode image buffer and the content of the mode image buffer is displayed on a display unit. The field indicating information written into the mode image buffer is analyzed to make field definition information tables, and a field name, for each field, is detected to make a field name table. By sorting and merging the contents of the field definition information tables and the field name table, a blank form is made.

Abstract: A word processing system for inserting characters into a series of displayed characters within a predetermined field, including a circuit (1008) for moving a series of characters displayed on and after a cursor position to the end portion of the field by pushing an insertion key indicating the insertion of characters, a circuit (1015) for inserting a character into the cursor position and moving the cursor by pushing a character key, and a circuit (1017) for filling the spaces following the inserted characters with the previously moved series of characters.

Abstract: A system for changing common card mode data a plurality of card images including: a memory area for old card mode data; a memory area for old card data; a memory area for card mode data; a memory area for card data; and a memory area for the field correspondence between the old and card mode data. In accordance with the content of the corresponding memory area, all or part of the old card data is transmitted from the old card data memory area to the card data memory area.
