  • Publication number: 20060242152
Abstract: Apparatus and a method are provided, which efficiently and properly execute information update processing and content reproduction processing based on transmission processing of content information from a server to a client. The server owning content attribute information extracts metadata based on an information acquisition request from the client, to generate the content information based on property information which is a component of the metadata, and for each property, sets data editing information allowed by each piece of the property information to transmit to the client. Furthermore, the server generates the content information including data mode information by which processing capability in a device on the client side can be judged, such as record quality level information and codec information, as the data mode information of the contents.

  • Publication number: 20060184532
Abstract: To provide an apparatus and method for efficiently displaying image content, which is sent and received between a server and a client, in a correct direction. An image content providing server stores, as property information, original angle information indicating correct directions of image content as metadata of the image content. The server generates content information including the original angle information and sends the generated content information to a client. This allows the client to understand the correct direction of the image content received from the server, and to obtain and display image data in the correct direction by performing rotation processing in the client device based on the obtained information or to request the server to perform the rotation processing.

  • Publication number: 20060108923
Abstract: Disclosed here is a plasma display unit that employs phosphors having an amount of charge controlled close to zero, by which degradation in luminance, color temperature, and charge characteristics can be minimized. A phosphor bearing positive or negative charge is coated with a compound for controlling the amount of charge of the phosphor through a strong chemical bonding, whereby the amount of charge of a phosphor can be suppressed within ±0.01 ?C/g. Controlling the amount of charge of phosphors close to zero can keep impurity gases away from the phosphor particle when the panel is in operation, suppressing problems critical to driving a plasma display unit, such as luminance degradation of phosphors, improper alignment of color in panel operation, luminance degradation when the panel displays all white.

  • Publication number: 20060059168
Abstract: An apparatus and a method are provided, which enable to perform an improved management processing based on an identifier information of a content on a server. The content providing server sets content-associated unique identifier information as property information that is a component of content-associated metadata, maintains the unique identifier information as content-associated metadata without changing the unique identifier information even if the logical/physical position of a content stored in the storage unit is changed, and maintains a setting value of unique identifier information, which is set associated with a received content, as metadata associated with the received content without changing the setting value of the unique identifier information. By this configuration, even if a content is moved between servers, a client can acquire the content based on the unique identifier.

  • Publication number: 20040106699
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an ink which can dispense with complicated and highly expensive steps, as required in the case of using a photosensitive resin composition, such as coating step, exposure step, development step, washing step and drying or heat-treatment step, and can produce printed matter comprising a cured coating film having a fine pattern on a substrate by a simple method of printing the ink by screen printing and then heat-treating it, without generating a large amount of waste solutions, including an alkali solution, accompanying the development or washing.

  • Patent number: 6590628
Abstract: The response speed of liquid crystal is enhanced by reducing a distance d between a longer side (42) of a display electrode and a linear portion (51) of an orientation control window (50). On the other hand, a larger orientation control window (50) (corresponding to a smaller distance d) results in undesirable decrease in contrast of the liquid crystal. Further, the effect of increase in response speed is diminished when the distance d is smaller than the range of 25 &mgr;m to 30 &mgr;m. Therefore, the distance d is preferably in the range of 25 &mgr;m to 30 &mgr;m, and the window (50) preferably has a width of 7 &mgr;m. An LCD configured to satisfy the above conditions allows improvement in contrast and response speed.
