Abstract: A cooperative system includes a plurality of information systems and a hub system connected to the plurality of systems. The hub system receives a message from a first information system, determines necessity of message conversion and a kind of conversion, converts the message to a form suitable for a second information system which is destination, only when message conversion is necessary, and transmits the message to a second information system. The hub system may determine whether flow control determining a flow and destination of a message received from the first information system based on a class of the message should be conducted, and conduct flow control only when it has been determined that flow control should be conducted.

Abstract: A highly reliable online system is disclosed which is provided with a backup computer center (sub-online system) in addition with an original computer center (main online system) in order to improve the reliability of the online system. With respect to the database, the main online system is provided with an original database (main database) while the sub-online system is provided with a backup database (sub-database) which is a duplicate of the main database. The main online system and the sub-online system are connected through a transmission path. Information on an update performed in the main database is transferred to the sub-online system through the transmission path to thereby update the sub-database in a manner similar to the main database. Terminal units are normally connected to the main online system, wherein the main database is updated by transactions inputted from the terminals.

Abstract: A horizontal hermetic type rotary compressor to be used in a refrigerator, air conditioner, or the like comprises an outer hermetic casing provided at both ends with suction and discharge pipes for a gaseous refrigerant, a compression device contained in the casing and a motor operatively connected to the compression device in the casing. The compression device has a cylinder body on both sides of which main and sub-bearings are attached and a silencer is provided for the cylinder body. The silencer comprises a plurality of silencer chambers formed in casting in the cylinder body at portions outside of the peripheries of the bearings and communicated with each other and a pair of cover plates secured to the cylinder body by tubular rivets so as to hermetically seal openings of the silencer chambers on both sides of the cylinder body.
