  • Patent number: 7591615
Abstract: A sheet material cutting machine includes a bristle bed with generally vertically extending bristles having free ends defining a support surface for supporting sheet material to be cut and a carriage movable over the bristle bed and carrying at least one cutting tool to selectively cut the sheet material. A vacuum cleaning system provides vacuum at the carriage to remove cutting debris as the cutting tool is cutting the sheet material. Illustrated embodiments include providing the vacuum through a passage in the cutting tool and providing the vacuum through a cavity in a presser foot.

  • Patent number: 6293377
Abstract: An actuator disposed within a piston rod of a variable-damping force shock absorber has coils mounted at an inner peripheral face of the piston rod, permanent magnets disposed facing a stator, and a cylindrical body supported rotatably about the piston rod axis. The permanent magnets are fixed to a side face of an upper portion of the cylindrical rotating body and an insert hole into which an upper end portion of a shaft is inserted extends through a lower portion of the rotating body. A female thread is formed in the insert hole, and engaged with a male thread formed on an outer peripheral face of the upper end portion of the shaft. A spool is mounted on a lower end portion of the shaft so that, as the rotating body rotates, the spool moves in the direction of the piston rod axis and thereby changes the opening of a communication passage between upper and lower chambers of a cylinder. The piston rod of the variable-damping force shock absorber has a reduced diameter.

  • Patent number: 4115821
Abstract: In a nonrecorded section detection system of a tape recorder apparatus comprising a differentiation circuit including a capacitor connected to an output transistor of a nonrecorded section detection signal generator and a resistor interposed between a DC power source and said capacitor, and a driving means for activating a plunger in order to release the nonrecorded section detection mode in response to a differentiated output signal of said differentiation circuit, a switching transistor is interposed between the differentiation circuit and the driving means. The switching transistor is connected to receive a driving voltage from said DC power source through a switching means which is placed in its ON condition when the tape recorder apparatus is in the nonrecorded section detection mode.

  • Patent number: 3984869
Abstract: An automatic program advance switch is provided for advancing or skipping a recorded passage which is about to be played and going on to the next passage. The tape is driven at a fast speed and a reproduction signal from a playback head is muted with the use of a squelch circuit upon depession of the automatic program advance switch. The tape drive is returned to its normal operating speed when a silence between recorded passages on the tape is detected during the fast movement of the tape. The tape speed control is achieved by varying the revolution velocity of a motor for driving the tape.
